Okay, I started thinking about what the difference is between the shitty sex article by Maureen and what I found to be really entertaining sex articles in the past. I still can’t quite explain it but it seems to revolve around the personality of the writer and crudeness of the language.
Maureen came off as a psycho-slut (not saying she is, just saying that’s what it sounded like) while other writers came off as friendly, humble, and funny.
Crudeness also plays a role. You can talk about sex without being, well, vulgar. So here are two T-mag article about sex that were successful- funny and entertaining, a little on the edge of risky, but nicely done. Maybe Maureen can read up and do better next time.
Hey Avoids, I’m still here. (thanks for missing me, I’ll send you a pizza grin) I’ve pretty much changed my status to ‘lurker’. I got pretty creeped out back in January and don’t feel all that comfortable posting any more.
Thank you to those of you who said they enjoyed the Gang columns. I founded the column and enjoyed being the moderator for them. A few months ago I was contacted by T-Mag to let me know that Maureen was going to do them from now on.
For those weighing in on the Gang O’ Babes issue, why not wait till several come out to see if you’ll avoid them?
Do you boycott a grocery store because you have a personal dislike for one cashier?
Do you boycott CNN (assuming you watched it to begin with) because they carried one story that turns out to be false (PFC Lynch)?
Do you expatriate yourself because you disagree with one politician’s point of view?
Do you abandon T-mag because they published one article you didn’t care for?
Give me a freakin’ break… Treat Gang O’Babes like anything else. Try it out and see if maybe, just maybe, it has some fun and worthwhile segments. From what I hear, even though Michelle is no longer actively involved, it should be pretty good.

Just because the Gang has changed hands does not mean it won’t be worth reading… give it a chance before you pass judgement. And, as always, I’m sure the T-Mag staff will listen to your opinions.
Michelle - Oh. My mistake then. Perhaps I misunderstood that after the freaky little incident in January (which I totally missed) you wanted no part of anything remotely “pubic”…hence your lurking status all this time.
I didn’t bother to read this entire thread but what’s the big fucking deal about her article? It’s pretty obvious that SHE’S HORNY and maybe a little frustrated. I say cut her a little slack. It’s kind of like Howard Stern, he says exactly what is on his mind and people get offended by it. Maureen is just like every other horny chick out there. No big deal.

I didn’t particularly like your article, but disk space is cheap. I was a little unclear on what point you were trying to make.
However, I think you made a complete ass out of yourself with your lengthy post. You go from Darwinism, biblical scripture, to pathetic insults and personal attacks.
You would have been better served by not defending your article. It’s too bad you let your emotions get the best of you.
I don’t see the big deal with the article. It didn’t offend me in any way. Although she talks a lot of shit at the end of the article about men crying to her and wanting to cuddle. It just sounds like a little bullshit to me. But I don’t find it offensive.
Spencer- The thread that caused this predated yours by a couple days. Don’t worry, this conflagration does not bear your fingerprints. It was amusing to see your inocent little thread pop up though after the shit-flurry on the other one (~sex on T-mag) had already hit ~40.
I wish Maurine would come back and give some more combative responses. This was an entertaining thread.
I have been an avid reader of T-mag for years now. The main reason: to pick up knowledge and apply it (for me). Proper/optimal training and nutrition are priorities that I apply in my daily life.
So what did I take with me or learn from this particular article? Was there something that struck my fancy or any new revelation that was exposed? Anything I could practice or change that would improve or enrich the lives of my friends/family/wife?

That article could have been replaced with useful, informative, educational material.
