I similarly ripped on a few of my friends since I didn’t seem to be facing the same problem, only to find myself getting kicked multiple times mid-dungeon (or after I explored an entire map). Since I am being anal my first play through (trying to explore every inch of every map), shit is getting really frustrating.
I would hope this does not signal a future where all single-player games are hosted online (just in case you want to play multiplayer), though I’d imagine it’s more so to prevent the hacking that was abundant in D2 rather than game piracy (which I hear most people speculating the reason to be).
Also, frustrating b/c I’m much more likely to chill/get drunk on my free time - if the servers go down or aren’t up, I’m probably just going out.

My biggest concern is what the fuck is the point of hardcore mode if you can get a RANDOM DC and die…

Ghey. Why is there no option for single player offline play again? Can anybody explain that? Piracy prevention?
Its to prevent piracy and cheating/modding in the regular servers where everyone can play. Blizzard is kind of like Apple in that regard, they like to maintain a tight control on their games but it yields a top notch product. There are a few bugs right now, but Blizzard is known for addressing these issues (I think they were patching Diablo 2 as recently as 2 or 3 years ago…10 years after its release)
The game, when played with your friends, is incredibly fun. Its not the kind of game I would play alone personally, but on skype or in a room with 3 of your friends its awesome.
As far as the overall experience, Once they get all the server issues figured out there really wont be anything to complain about. Looks great, plays super smooth, and its fun as hell with a few of your friends.
The 60 dollar price tag is NOTHING when you factor in the ridiculous amount of hours you can sink in to this game. Compared to the value of a movie(10 dollars for 2 hours) or a cup of coffee its a fucking steal. I expect the kind of gamer who buys this game will likely sink 60+ hours into over their lifetime… 1 dollar an hour is a hell of a value in my opinion.
It’s all about the real money auction house. They can’t make money off “digital items” if people are duping them like in D2. They also can’t make money off the AH if there aren’t people going online to play single player, or if perhaps they added LAN to play with friends. And I heard they made it anonymous for people who put items on the AH. So they can cut out the middle man, create items and put them on the AH to make the full amount of money.
I can’t see how people can justify paying for this crap. You’re just supporting more online at all time single player games that have micro transactions for digital items. Gaming is becoming ridiculous. The game isn’t even that good.
Yeah, the real money auction house is crazy to me. I remember being blown away when I heard people were paying decent coin to buy WoW characters and items back when that first started happening.

Uh, what? You never had to spend real money to buy WoW characters and items, unless you were buying form black market websites who stole/hacked/whatever characters and sold the accounts for you to merge.
I just bought it, guess I’m a Diabro now.
Luckily I haven’t had any errors yet except for some lag but nothing major.
I’m a lvl 19 DH atm so haven’t played that much, but I like it a lot.
Chakra ftw!
