I think I am at least 1/2 through Act 2. I’ve been playing a wizard and so far it is pretty enjoyable. I’m around level 20 and it is starting to get tough. I think I really need to get some new gear. I will probably start a new character today to fool around with. Either a witch doc or a demon hunter.
So far it is pretty enjoyable. Really the only gripe I have is that you are constantly having NPCs tag along and open doors or Deckard Cain’s daughter is “helping” you. I prefer to have the solo horrow of being alone against all the evil. If I want to play with others I’d rather play with real people.

WTF is with that stupid looking childish animation? Diablo is supposed to strike fear and a sense of evil into my heart… but this… wtf is this???
Well… I was going to stand in line at future shop at 12am to pay $60 for the game, there is no way in hell I am going to do that now.[/quote]

If you are somehow trying to call 30 Rock stupid then you are a disreputable person.
Game is incredibly fun, especially after I figured out(real derp moment) that you could use skills in your 1-4 slots from any skill tree, not just the ones that default there. Spell effects and animations are beautiful, and I love the environments both from a style standpoint and as far as the interaction goes. I’ve recognized some background music and a couple easter eggs from D1(not counting lore), which is a cool throwback to the ‘scarier’ days of the series.
Oh and Witch Doctor seems seriously OP.
My fricken mac doesn’t meet system requirements. Been in the process of building a new PC for some time and gathering parts as I find good deals but now I may have to just finish it out. D3 is going to cost well more than the sticker price for me. Damn.
I really don’t like that the game has to maintain a continuous server connection to run. Shouldn’t be getting lag in a single player game, IMO.

That’s one thing that is keeping me from buying it right away. I heard a lot of people’s connection drops frequently and/or is very laggy. It is simply killing me that there may be other people finding awesome unique drops and I’m not hunting them though… LOL
I’m running on highest graphics and have zero issues with lag. The server issues are really annoying though, but they seem to be about all fixed today…for now.
Super fun game loving it.

By lag I mean you’ll be truckin along no problems, then the mobs stop responding and you can’t pick anything up… i.e. severe server lag or just plain old time outs. Very fucking frustrating when you’re knee deep in a mob pack and the connection stops responding, because who knows, the server might suddenly catch up and you’d be instantly dead. Fucking idiots. Maybe they should try running on something more powerful than a 486. Or perhaps they could have tried optimizing for minimum necessary server communication during, oh I don’t know, the fucking BETA??
EVE Online regularly handles 40k+ connections on the same server and also requires constant internet connection to play. They very rarely have problems and even have a time-dilation mechanism in place if too many players are on the same node so you don’t laaaaaaaaaaag, only to snap out of it and have your spaceship insta-gibbed. So point being Blizzard, do your fucking homework, idiots.

So, maybe I should wait to pick this up until they get all that shit sorted out? Getting fucked due to lag when I only want to solo as a barb and smash shit doesn’t sound like fun.

It’s not. Blizzard hasn’t made a single comment on the latency issue, either. So it seems like they are just ignoring the user base and hoping the problem goes away. Huge loss of respect not only for the defective product, but also for the complete lack of communication on the issue.

Ghey. Why is there no option for single player offline play again? Can anybody explain that? Piracy prevention?

Probably protects the integrity of the Auction House markets. If every item is dropped server-side, then it’s probably a lot harder (or impossible) to hack high-level items into the game. Especially important when some items can be sold for real money.

Its to prevent piracy and cheating/modding in the regular servers where everyone can play. Blizzard is kind of like Apple in that regard, they like to maintain a tight control on their games but it yields a top notch product. There are a few bugs right now, but Blizzard is known for addressing these issues (I think they were patching Diablo 2 as recently as 2 or 3 years ago…10 years after its release)
The game, when played with your friends, is incredibly fun. Its not the kind of game I would play alone personally, but on skype or in a room with 3 of your friends its awesome.
As far as the overall experience, Once they get all the server issues figured out there really wont be anything to complain about. Looks great, plays super smooth, and its fun as hell with a few of your friends.
The 60 dollar price tag is NOTHING when you factor in the ridiculous amount of hours you can sink in to this game. Compared to the value of a movie(10 dollars for 2 hours) or a cup of coffee its a fucking steal. I expect the kind of gamer who buys this game will likely sink 60+ hours into over their lifetime… 1 dollar an hour is a hell of a value in my opinion.

I admittedly don’t know much about the code behind this or hacking anything, but couldn’t you just have anything dropped in off-line play excluded from being brought online? Was this an issue in D2? Didn’t put hundreds of hours into that one and never got into the online play so I’m a bit out of the loop. Maybe they just decided that’s more effort than it’s worth.
ya’ll cheap asses need to get over it. sheesh
2 glasses of whiskey + tipping the bartender with the big tits (he didnt take his AI while on cycle) is more than that.
diabo 3 gives you 100 hours of play time easy.
Here I was saying I had no issues and now I keep getting random DC’s all fucking day. I jinxed myself ![]()

Hey we’ve switched places! I’ve been playing all day with no problems whatsoever.
