DHEA-S Serum as a Predictor for Adrenal Insufficiency

Ok I understood everything you just said its just that last sentence I don’t understand. So your saying that If I increase my dosage of HCG its going to increase my T and my E2. But if it increases my E2 won’t that make it harder for me to control it?

I wouldn’t take less than 150 IU’s at a time for HCG if you’re going to be using it. It doesn’t do much of anything at dosages that low

No. It will increase (to an extent, everyone is different) the E2 being produced in you scrotum. This is not aromatised E2 like you get from body fat. And you have very little (if any) control over it. But it does boost T, so your ratio shouldn’t change a lot.

Sorry everyone I took a couple days off to go spearfishing and will get caught up and get back in here as soon as I can.

Remember HCG also stimulates PGR production and may help keep the thyroid in line, for those that do not have adrenal problems. This discussion is just 1 part of all the reasons to take HCG with your TRT.

It just makes sense.

I’m going to put your theory to the test. I have 12000iu of HCG on the way. Dr Calkins instructed me to take 500iu x2 per week, so this should be 12 weeks worth. I’ve been on Test only for the last 6 months and am fairly dialed in.

I’ll start a thread once my prescription gets here and I start injecting to keep a log of any changes I notice. By that time I should be close to getting bloods again so we can have an honest comparison of HCG vs no HCG with nothing else changing.

Very interesting discussion. I am currently on 60mg twice a week of T and my doc from the beginning wanted me on HCG 250 2x per week. I was not consistent and at follow up I was urged to be consistent because it does more than just keep you from shrinkage. Exactly what is stated in this thread. So for the last month I have been taking 250 twice a week no sides noted and no change in how I feel. Was not having any problem pre HCG. Not sure from what I am reading if I need to be on a higher dose or can I continue at 250 2x per week and be ok.

ok that makes sense and I appreciate the advice. I posted my labs for you on the other three

that would be really helpful and appreciated

@dbossa here is a bunch of literature, directly contrasting your bro-science about HCG. Any comment?

What was the outcome? Still on HCG?

I started a thread documenting my trial run.

You can read it here.

Does somebody feel low energy and tiredness from HCG?

Well if you have adrenal insufficiency, then stimulate the adrenals, it will make you feel sick at first. 6- 11 weeks.

With your newly enhanced adrenal function you may notice that initially you feel a little worse after beginning your dietary supplement program designed for adrenal support. Some patients refer to this as cold or flu like symptoms, achiness or not feeling well overall. During the period of adrenal insufficiency, some of the physiological processes modulated by the adrenal gland can slow down and affect proper immune function; detoxification and elimination of waste. When your program immediately supports adrenal gland function, all of these processes pick up their pace, so the new spurt in detoxification and immune activity can produce feelings of illness. This is actually a good sign that your program is working and should stop shortly after commencing your program.

@increasemyt Seems legit although it doesn’t seem I have clear adrenal issues

This is a cortisol saliva test from previous summer:

Cortisol, morning 6-10 ч. sal 28.61 nmol/l 0 - 24.10 ECLIA
Cortisol, afternoon 16-20 ч. sal 0.92 nmol/l 0 - 9.65 ECLIA
Cortisol, night 23:30-0:30 ч. sal 2.59 nmol/l 0 - 11.30 ECLIA
Last summer my cortisol was higher than now.

Recently I’ve taken only serum:

Cortisol (morning) S 363.6 nmol/l 133 - 537 ECLIA
Cortisol (afternoon) S 324.6 nmol/l 68.20 - 327 ECLIA

How does it seem in the context of addrenal issues? And what other tests can be made for adrenals?

Wait a second… This is totally a game changer… Not sure why this thread is limited to 76 replies only as this is contradicting with a lot of stuff here in tnation.
It makes me question my own TRT protocol , my potential thyroid replacement protocol and my adrenal supplements etc.

So can anyone here who is receiving TRT for multiple years chime in and confirm this?

I have read @bmbrady77 's 12 week case study but it does not really show that much regarding what @increasemyt is suggesting.

I never considered HCG as i don’t care for it for any reasons and i also hate the idea of another injection. But this is different.

I rather take pregnenolone (the mother hormone) which is the precursor to basically all of the adrenal hormones than take hcg

I wish there was a LOL button for your posts @charlie12

Enjoy the powdered female urine Hcg u inject. Which is not LH but mimics LH. I am entitled to my opinion.
