Hello, First time poster looking for advice on T replacement. I am a former athlete riddled with injuries and looking to heal chronic tendinitis and tendon tears. I started Test C that was given to me by my GP brother in law from another state five weeks ago. After reading more about this, I feel it could be too complicated to pursue? It seems that many on this site are on a merry-go-round and have not settled on a steady state treatment plan. I really want to feel better so I can start working out enough to preserve my well being as I begin my journey into my 60’s. Right now if I do any light lifting, I get tendinitis and pain and can’t continue. I have started Test C, but have also looked into Deca as well. 17 years ago I used HGH for about 3 months to get over nerve damage from my 4th back surgery and quit after developing water retention and severe anxiety. I thought I would never be able to walk again, but have battled back to being able to golf 3x per week, bike some(foot gets numb with foot drop), and swim 1/2 mile 2-3 times a week in the winter, when I am not able to golf.
A little about my self:
57 year old Anesthesiologist, sit a lot at work, but sometimes walk 5 miles/day.
6’3" 195 pounds . Body fat % about 23%. waist growing now with soft pouch and love handles, waist now 38, was 30 in college with 36 inseam. I am now a hypersquare! ( waist bigger than inseam).
I played college Tennis, and played college level volleyball, basketball, semi-pro baseball and now a 3 handicap in golf.
Body hair: plenty on chest, back legs. Full head of brown hair -thinning, but no gray except at temples and on neck and chest.
I look ten years younger than my age.
Diet: poor, too many sweets.
Testes: always small since high school, now getting smaller and not hanging as much after just 6 weeks of Test C.
Libido was average when younger, but not as aggressive as some guys, due to Catholic upbringing, or maybe my Test was low? Now waning as I age. Morning wood better for first 3 weeks of Test C, but now seems I am flattening out my libido, mood and wood now in my 6th week of treatment.
Medical history : Blood clots - DVT x 4 , all provoked by injury:
-weight lifting/arm wresting in college - DVT R axillary vein-now occluded.
-Back surgery : DVT in leg with Pulmonary embolism/infarction
-Ankle tendon rupture repair with tourniquet - leg DVT
-Tight knee brace for patellar bursitis- calf DVT
Otherwise have some mild HTN-at work, fine in the evening
GERD- on prilosec for 25 years
Chronic tendinitits : elbows, hand, wrist, shoulder, plantar fascitis( some great relief with myofacial release by an Arrosti chiropractor)
Torn ligaments in hand, ankle, foot, both achilles tendons ( ? maybe from fluoroquinolone antibitics used at age 30 to treat sinusutis )
Degenerative spine disease in lower back and c-spine with both legs having some radicular nerve pain(sciatica) Some finger numbness after recent neck injury body surfing ( was paralyzed for 8 seconds while in water)
Surgeries:
Back x 4 Lumbar discs), shoulder x 2, ankle x 1, elbow x 2, sinus x 2
Have 3 kids, but thru in vitro. after 10 years of infertilty Tx. My sperm counts were a little low with average to low motility. Wife and I are 57, so no more kids.

I basically am looking for tendinitis relief and any energy benefits of Test and or Deca and looking for a plan. I am generally in a good mood, but tired from work and kids etc. i would love to be an athlete again!I was looking for just 6-8 weeks of Test C and then tapering off if I healed, but now wondering if I should stay on this the rest of my life - which may be more of a hassle than I want.
I started with Test C 50 subQ 2x/week, then tapered down to 40 twice / week after getting ankle swelling and now even smaller softer balls. I just called in a script for anastrozole, which if they fill it, I will start at .25 twice a week with my injections. I want to preserve my LH function and prevent further shrinkage, so I am debating on Clomid vs HCG. I am getting my GP on board, she is very open and suggested I start Clomid, but is worried about my hx of blood clots.
I am debating about what to do next. I am just starting my reading and would love a summary and also some feedback for how easy it is to acheive a steady state.
I just got most of the labs that were suggested on this site drawn yesterday and I guess should get those back next week.
Any advice?
Thanks,
Strings
