I use maltodextrin… Use it post workout and often mix during workout with branch chains…
You cant really buy the wrong one, read the label… Get it at any Health/Supp store… Its cheap as fuck… 1g = 1g of carb… Its stapled in my regeim cause I believe it helps a lot in my recovery and bringing me around after intense training…
Depending on how much you wanna consume for carbs in a day will dictate how much to put in your shake… If moneys an issue use plain white sugar it is essentially the same thing… A tub of maltodextrin is around 15 bucks in Canada…

This shit is fuckin confusing me lol. Can’t I just take powerdered gatorade? It’s cheap and makes the shake taste pretty damn good.

Basing on from what I read now, you can.
I don’t really think it’s cheaper than getting dextrose or maltodextrin. And also dextrose is sweet so it would sweeten up your shake.
Do you use the gatorade powder or the drink? I never mixed it with my shake before, I wonder how it tastes

Yeah that’s fine. The carbs from powdered gatorade come from sucrose followed in quantity by dextrose. Sucrose is a disacharide composed of fructose and glucose. Dextrose is glucose, d-glucose specifically.
Although I think everyone could stand a little less fructose (see ‘Evils of Fructose’ article) the powdered gatorade will do just fine. But don’t drink gatorade from the bottles it is just high fructose corn syrup.

Not off hand, but most grocery stores in my area have it in stock. Have you tried looking in stores?
From reading the other thread from years ago (on which I cannot post for some reason), consensus appears to be to mix dex + maltodex PWO.
Would anyone care to venture as to what the optimal amount each should be in a mixture in grams? I am guessing most folks add BCAAs also to these two sugars.
Whats the final word on WMZ? I have a bucket laying around and I am debating whether to take BCAA + WMZ or BCAA+Malto+Dex PWO. I haven’t seen conclusive info regarding this comparison.
