Detroit Pistons

Pistons baby!

Laker fans say what you will but the Pistons went into Staples last night, set the pace, and kept the Lake-show in check for the entire game.

Shaq and Koby had their points but only having 16 points from the supporting cast is just not the way to win over such a defensively sound team.

Go Pistons!

I’m right there with you! They played well, and withstood the Lakers’ patented third quarter and comeback charges.

If they get Rip going and maintain their defense and balanced scoring, I think they just might do it.

How big of an upset would that be?!

dont get to happy yet, lakers could do them like they did philly and win 4 straight…

buttttttttttttttttt, that defense looked incredible

lakers will no doubt make adjustments but… if their role players dont step up there is nothing they can do

GO PISTONS, GO EAST!

Still people doubting the pistons even after that first game.

I am surprised that the Pistons won, but not shocked. And I don’t think it means anything yet.

This Laker team has taken several nights off this season and even fell down 0-2 to the Spurs(who are better than Detriot). I just can’t can’t see Detroit keeping the Lakers under 80 points for 3 more games.

But who knows. This is all just a thing to pass time until football season starts.

“This is all just a thing to pass time until football season starts.”

–>OUCH! Speak for yourself!

Detroit looks good, but LA has shown they can turn it on and off.

Will LA be able to turn it on again and come out of losing home court advantage?

I think they may, but Detroit is young and hungry. And Larry Brown is a hell of a coach.

The way I see it you can make a pretty good argument for the Pistons on this basis. I see this series as one that will be won by coaching. Phil and the Lakers are not as good as they were the year they played Larry Brown’s Sixers and the Pistons are better than that sixers team. I think this will be a very good series. I had predicted LA in 6 before yesterday, but now I think it will go seven (to LA).

Relax Detroit fans…Don’t get excited yet…I still stand by my prediction…Lakers in six.

Living about 5 miles from the city of Detriot makes me biased, but I think the Pistons have a good shot and taking the lakers down. The Pistons and Pacers were two very underrated teams, esp. the pacers, with very good defenses. The Pistons can score points, and if they hit 90 or close to it they will win. Many people think that low scoring games are boring, but being a Pistons fan and having went to games I can tell you that the atmosphere is great. The Pistons come to play everynight, always play defense, and win by sharing the ball. The lakers proved last night that one or two people cant carry a team. Peyton and Malone will play better, and the bench will show up in game 2, but the Pistons didn’t play their best game either. Hamilton shot horrible, many layups were missed and freethrows. I am saying Pistons in 6. BEAT LA!

Right Side Up,

Lol…I was speaking for myself. Although I do enjoy basketball, football is my love.

I guess my order of love in terms of enjoying to watch is:

NFL
NCAA football
High School Football
World’s Strongest Man reruns
Boxing
NCAA basketball
NBA
Arena Football
MLB
Track and Field events

There’s probably others that I forgot, but that is pretty much my list. And, yes, I know that the NHL is not on my list. Sorry, I don’t like soccer, and hockey is just soccer on ice.

I’m not going to get too excited over one game, but still it was nice to see the Pistons play so well in Game 1.

It will be interesting to see if the Lakers will still refuse to feed Shaq the ball in Game 2. He was 13-of-16 from the field, but the way he was shooting, he should’ve doubled his shot attempts. I’m sure Phil Jackson will bring that up and we should see more of Shaq in Game 2. Detroit can’t match his strength and size, but if they shut Kobe and everyone else down like they did in Game 1, it won’t matter what Shaq does.

I’m pulling for the Pistons, which is kind of sad because growing up I was a huge Lakers fan during the Showtime days. A few years ago I got sick of the soap opera they had become and now can’t stand to watch them.

Lets not get carried away lads, fair game Detroit did the business last night and deserved the game. I was a little disappointed with Karl and Gary but they will deliver, too good not to.

Lakers still on for the title and i would still be surprised if the series goes all the way to Game 7.

The Pistons might be on to something. Let Shaq and Kobe get their points but play solid defense on them and try to shut everyone else down. I haven’t seen many teams not double either of the two. At least it will be interesting.

Big Game tonight folks!

Prince is due, Malone is dinged, and the Wallace’s will prevail down low!

Man this feels like old times doesn’t it?

Tonight will say alot about Detroits game…will they finally play good at home offensively…against Indiana they were terrible…I think Detroits got a great shot…game 2 hurt bad though they handed that game over to LA…been a Pistons fan since the early Bad Boy days. Michigan born and raised.

Love my Pistons!

Looks like another win tonight…Woo Hoo!

Hockey is only soccer on ice???Wow you are quite ignorant!I think football is one of the most boring sports to watch.Right up there with golf.Hockey is the best sport in the world. The hockey fights, the brutal checks into the boards/ice,the way a talented player stick handles the puck and sets up beautiful plays, the great saves and great goals, shot blocks (90-100+ mph pucks hitting your body),suspensful power plays, penalty shots, and overtimes.Man too bad the season is over!

It was only my opinion, but the whole concept and style of play seems very much like soccer. I don’t think it warranted me being called ignorant. I am not going to call you ignorant for saying football is boring, because maybe to use it is.

Maybe you don’t understand football, just like I don’t fully understand hockey. To me it is very exciting. And to me hockey and soccer are very similar sports.
