Det Azathoth: Ascend(ancy)

Offseason: Week 3, Day 4

  1. Squat, Beltless -

395x5
445x3
500x1

  1. Deadlift, Beltless -

5x10 370lbs

  1. HLR - 5x10

The 500 was a beltless PR, felt fast and easy. The deadlifts were brutal. I supersetted those with the hanging leg raises and I felt like puking. I’m having way too much fun training this way, but my body definitely feels the need for a deload. Everything is seemingly coming to plan

You might learn a thing or two
This made me want to tuck my shirt in. He makes a lot of good points.
For sure, I can’t wait for the next part. Rhodes is a pleasure to train with and I will always hold him in high regard for the mentoring he gave me.

Let me get to 275lbs first, and I’ll join you guys there.
W.E. 275 was much more underwhelming than I expected, hopefully 315 will have a more accomplished feeling.

Today is Patriot’s Day. Regardless of your politics and/or creed, we are all Americans. United We Stand. Today we are all Bostonians

I felt like my walking out my squats today, I may or not next week, we’ll see how I feel. The high rep deadlifts didn’t feel too bad this time around, I think my body is finally adapting to the training, so I may also add some extra assistant work too if that’s the case next week.

I literally could not get up from the floor for a good 10-15min. Can’t wait to do this again!

Impressive. Especially after the pulls!

I have been thinking of working on a widowmaker after my upcoming meet, and here you go showing me how.

Hahaha, well to be honest, doing sets of 10 was too easy, so I figured why not try a set of 20. Unfortunately, my lungs weren’t prepared for that kind of work. Oh well, pressing on to thinking about next week’s BBB Squats. I can’t imagine doing this on a consistent basis.

Hey, are you still training at TPS? Do you know anything about the RPS meet that’s scheduled for October?

Yes, I’m still at TPS. I believe the meet is October 12-13. It’s most likely going to be divided into 2 days

Sat AM session: women and men up to 181

Sat PM session: Men’s 198 and 220

Sunday: Men’s 242 and up

I haven’t decided if I’m competing or not yet.

Offseason: Week 6, Day 1

  1. Bench Press -

255x3
295x3
330x3

Added Reactive Slingshot

375x3, 1 Second Paused

  1. Press - 145x10x5
  2. BB Row - 185x10x5
  3. Cable Curls - 3xSwole
    Rolling Tricep Extensions - 3xSwole
  4. Face pulls - 3xSwole

Got a new toy to play with, the reactive slingshot. It definitely does not give as much as the original one does. I do like and will definitely abuse over the summer when I go back to a normal 5/3/1 template. I definitely recommend this one out of all the slingshot variations for raw lifting.

I regret not getting the reactive version. I have the original red one. Its still nice, but the reactive probably would’ve been a better choice for me.

I think the original still has its merit as a substitute for reverse band work if you don’t access to that kind of equipment
