I’ve always heard that for those who were obese/overweight as children, upon subsequent weight loss, adipocytes don’t disappear but rather shrink, still releasing their hormones and ‘On-the-ready’ to gather up nutrients.
However, this bit of information seems to be one of those things that I have heard, and believed for a long time with no evidence shown to me. I just ‘knew’ this in trust.
Omitting surgery, I have heard capsaicin has the ability to induce cell death, and was wondering if anybody has heard evidence (anecdotal or not) about the efficacy of topical capsaicin formulas and whether they are effective in any means.
I have also heard that Poliquin mentioned that Licorice Root Cream can make one appear more defined (This was indirectly heard from a Fat-loss seminar summary notes posted on a forum), After some research I came across this:
Essentially, showing that the active compound can induce mitochondrial death. I know it is a stretch to apply it to fat cells, but the means of a cream having a supposedly noticeable effect on definition is a stretch itself (Unless it’s cortisol-prolonging abilities can be achieved subcutaneously, thoughts?)
Regarding the above, does anyone else think that it may be possible to actually destroy adipocytes without surgery, and if so (or not), would there be negative health effects due to this?
The difference between adipocytes when they’re full of triglycerides and when they’re empty or nearly empty is enormous. While most bodily cells are microscopic, adipose cells in obese people can be up to the size of a small blueberry. Empty adipose cells, however, are extremely small. Really, if you get down to <9% body fat, you’ll look fine no matter what.

Thing is, I’m worried more about the hormones sent out from them. I don’t have the knowledge to describe what happens on a microscopic level, but as a Former Fat Boy, I feel the constant hunger pains and failure to feel satiated all the time. If this is the cause of empty adipocytes, then I would definitely wish to get rid of them.
I should note that the hunger is indeed physiologically based, rather than psychologically, either that or my mind is amazing at making emotional eating have distinct physical symptoms.
Google it. I did and there is a good video on Google video that explains how the procedure works. They don’t have to cut into you at all. It’s all done with needles.
