Tired, but got a good one in, back cramped up on the last set of shrugs, thought I’d punched my ticket, thought the reaper was here for me haha Jesus god in heaven that was rough. Bloated, because I have the willpower and discipline of a small child.
Decent day. Workin through a shit on call stretch, which means I’ve had 4-6 hours of interrupted sleep a night for the last 3 or 4 days. It’s added up. Really wanted to skip legs, like had all the justifications. Skipped back squats because where I cramped in my lats is still tender, didn’t wanna get right under the bar and fold like a lawn chair, ha.

Strength is there, felt like it moved well, but started slipping above the knee, poor grip strength, poor knurling, and no chalk allowed all conspired to do me in, ha, genuinely feel like if i had chalk I would’ve gotten it, so I’m not upset. Solid back day, solid pump. Been working on sitting back more in my deadlift, definitely didn’t happen with this one, ha.
First barbell bench in 6-8 weeks, pretty solid, just not really in the groove at the moment, was at a different gym so the bench was a better height for lift off. @simo74 they allow liquid, I just am out haha
Just going to post highlights, accessories are just not interesting, ha. Haven’t posted in a week, but have still been getting it in. Nothing major. Next week will pull from the floor. Following week will be regular squats. Taking a page out of the conjugate book to help save my lower back, rotating through variations and hitting the main one with low volume, high intensity every three weeks or so.
Shoulders feel good and healthy, 185 moved fine, bracing is still weird, need to add the seated BTN presses and see if that shapes me up a bit. Been adding a little incline walk at the end of my workouts, my cardiovascular health just feels like garbage.
Ouch, this was humbling, after pulling 475 for a physically (minus grip) easy single, about passed out pulling 455. Used a belt (first time in months and months) and tried straps due to the lack of grip strength. Lost the straps at 315, kept throwing me forward, it was weird, kept the belt, feels like an entirely different lift, fucking weird. Whatever, got it to lock and slipped out of both hands, just… poof, gone, ha. Never had this problem before.
Decent day, 50th rep would’ve been an absolute dog fight, so I left it in the tank, 90s again next week. Weight is all over, head is all over, probably not a coincidence, ha.
Solid day today, everything was smooth and as easy as it should be, 95s next week. I’m disappointed in myself as far as diet/food choices, been eating Cinnamon Toast Crunch like they’re gonna discontinue it, shit choices like that, so while I’m disappointed, I’m far from surprised. Did a back workout 8/11, but it was just a pump chase, really, so didn’t take the time to log it.
Was easier than expected, honestly. Belt fucks me up now, bracing makes more sense to me naked, so, everything is beltless, sometimes with knee sleeves.
Did some meal prep, so this week should be solid for nutritional choices.
Solid day, much better than expected, if I’m being honest, moved well, 100s next week. Been doing cardio, 3 days in a row now, that’s a habit, right? Haha tentatively 1 mile every other day, attempting to improve time slightly, and the other days will be high incline walks. Feeling better about my cardiovascular health already
