Sorry had a rough day at the gym :cold_sweat:

Mate you’re a beast!

@girlgotguns hey, at least it’s still a day in the gym haha

@duketheslaya ha, kind words! Much appreciated, but with all the weight being slung around here, tough to say I’d qualify :joy:

SSB is funny like that. I think the rule of thumb is SSB is around 80-90 per cent of straight bar, so when you’re getting closer to those limits you’ll really feel the difference.

Just push through man

Fun fact, that gif is from a Finnish comedy movie

We will live to fight another day.
I hope the shitty days are the ones that feeds the good days.

Meh, pretty solid chest pump, bunch of BPAs throughout the work out. Down a rep on the 2nd and 3rd sets, next week will drop to 90s and get some quality volume in, get over this little plateau. Those banded push ups were no joke.

Weight is good, happy with that, more hungry than normal though.

Edit: Also, figured out what my general anxiety has been about for the last couple days, my state boards for EMT certification are today and I’ve been worrying about them the last few days, which has affected sleep, eating, and general feelings of awesomeness. I live a fairly stress free existence, so it didn’t really even occur to me that my anxiety might actually be stemming from something haha

Good luck with the certification! What exactly do you have to do for that?

The SSB can be humbling!

From 8a-12 we do our written portion (why they gave us that long, I have no idea) and then from 1-(they said expect to be late evening) is the practical portion, scenarios, scenes, and all that jazz.

Glad today was an “off” day, am wiped out from the events yesterday, food was off, not macros/shitty food, I just had a protein shake about 0430 and didn’t eat anything again until about 445 in the afternoon when we left the testing center.

Weight is low due to moderate dehydration and minimal food yesterday, I skipped the pizza and soda they ordered for us so that put me a few hours into a pseudo/unwanted fast haha

How did the rest of the testing itself go?

Good, thanks for asking! Everything went smoothly, one of only a handful to pass the initial written test, and then got through all my practicals except one, I got a little confident and didn’t use the phrasing they wanted verbatim so I missed a critical component because of it and had to re-test out of that scenario, my own fault.

Knew coming in I wasn’t moving anything off the floor with any quality today, just feel flat beat up, my time with BBB may be coming to a close to let my body recover before hitting it again, it is easily my favorite template due to the volume and toughness of it.

Weight is good, back to consistently under 200 which makes me content, composition is still good as well.

Pretty good pump today, felt good, shirt was hanging right, good confidence boost from the mirror today haha

A solid pump today, 145 was easy, didn’t want to grind today, accumulated fatigue for the week has definitely hit me, but felt good about a solid 3D pump.

Pretty good workout, overall.

Weight is better than expected, but I also didn’t eat or drink as much as I should have yesterday. Weekend off as I am on baby sitting duty for the niece.

Edit: Wanted to add ‘da feelz’. Feel great about my body comp right now, feel thick and full, like I lift in and out of a shirt, been a minute since I’ve been happy about that.

That’s awesomeness to feel your hard work is paying off! Results are like the best feeling and especially if you haven’t seen someone in awhile and you get some validation. How’s the kid you mentioned mentoring?
