Nice lift man! 200lbs overhead is heavy!
@girlgotguns ha, that’s a very apt description, ours has basset hound mixed in so he’s super short and adorable (named Winston). It takes a special person to rescue dogs, good on ya!
@littlelee yeah, it’s a bummer, but such is the life of lifting weights, other stuff is moving decently. Haha yeah, I’ve finally got my body and diet figured out, I think. And I use the word “abs” very loosely hahaha
@littlesleeper Hey thanks for droppin’ back in, big fella! Yeah, that was the best it has felt and it was after a solid block of DB work, and then on a beat up day, so I’m pretty happy with how that bad boy moved for all the variables involved.
I use the word “loosely” to describe my abs.
Wait, did I rescue them or did they rescue me
the unconditional love a pet can give is priceless plus they are so protective of me.
We don’t deserve dogs, it is a fact haha

Decent day, felt good, good sleep, just didn’t move quite like it should have throughout the work out, was distracted, possibly. So-so chest pump, meh. May be moving back into straight bar in the near future.
Edit: 35 minute walk with the dogs and 20lb pack.
Made me look that up on YouTube. I was like shoulder girdle, huh?
This thingy right here, not real high impact, but now that I have the big heavy duty bands similar to this, I think I’m going to start doing them on pressing days.
Looked on wiki, too. Thanks for enlightening me ![]()

The weighted vest walk was good, actually made me sweat, which was nice. Tomorrow will be a back pump with no, or light, pulling from the floor (maybe light conventional work).
Weight is ok, composition is fair, some generalized anxiety this morning which is unusual for me.
Wait you said weighted vest actually made you sweat…don’t you sweat when you lift?
Ha, yeah, with deads and squats. But I’m in fairly good shape (hiking/walking wise, I do daily walks with the dogs and a 20lb pack) so to get the sweat really going on the treadmill I have to find just that right combination.
Hope the anxiety settles. I was thinking to myself, I usually, have sweat like tears when I squat.
Ah, just texted an intern, he explained that my intense cardio makes my body like an air conditioner or thermoregulator and that’s why all physical activities make me sweat more. Plus of course everyone is different.

Short day, was moving slow, but felt pretty strong throughout the lift, that deadlift/ssb combo sucked…a lot, not sure why I even did it, but I feel better for it, ha. The 405 moved really well actually, happy with that, for not having deadlifted for a minute.
Weight is good, lower than I expected, probably a bit dehydrated, may check back in a few hours. Edit: 6 hours later weight is 199.0
All in all, a good day for weight moved.
That sounds brutal as hell!
You ain’t kiddin’, buster! I recovered surprisingly well (between sets, and from the workout overall) but boy did it hurt in the moment.

Meh, simply, meh. The barbell stuff feels good, just…out of the groove (?) maybe… pretty good pump.
Weight is good, ate normally, not overly hungry. Expected to be ravenous after yesterday’s workout, but everything held up alright, got lots of extra movement in as well (40 minute weighted walk with the dogs and mowing the lawn and shit.)
Have a couple folks wanting to work out early with me, prior to the gym opening officially. Am fairly excited about it, as they are serious folks (one gal has competed multiple times, another gal is prepping for her first show, and her boyfriend is big into the whole Spartan race series) it’ll be nice to have a solid group to lift with away from the general gym crowd. Should have a different feel and atmosphere to it, should be good for a little extra oomph.

Pretty shitty day, gettin’ up very close to my TM, which is very close to my true 1RM with the SSB, but I still expected it to move better, when I see 345 I just expect it to move more. Got the first 2, both were slow, 45 second rest, first single, 45 second rest, another single (pissed), move on.
Trap bar felt heavy as well, may need to swap things around, lift legs on a day other than a Monday. Effin’ A. Maybe move back to straight bar for a bit, see how things have transferred (if at all.)
Weight, not bad, worse than I expected, felt like I kept stuff in check a bit better than I did, apparently, little soft and bloated, not sure what it’s from.
All in all a pretty shitty day, pretty disappointed with my performance and production for legs the last couple weeks.
…current mood when looking at my numbers and log…
