Decent day, nothing to write home about. 250 moved very easily. Feeling those high rep squats from yesterday, not as nasty of DOMS as I thought there would be, but definitely fatigued.
@littlesleeper opened up my gifts last night, got a certified set of old man squat shoes now, tried them out for a bunch of sets of 5 at 135 (legs weren’t gonna be pushed today, ha) and the best description after simply being under the bar is, “stable.” There is no rocking side to side or front to back, the heel itself doesn’t seem throw me way forward (at least under that small amount of weight), I half expected to fall on my face with the heels that high. Felt like I stopped at parallel a lot more comfortably to be honest, but will have to have a go at 'em next leg day.
In other news, my purchase of a SSB got approved for the gym here, so that bad boy is in the mail! This may be the best part about managing the gym…I can get all these specialty bars and then selfishly use them myself, haha.
@oldbeancam when you starting a log, man? I’ve seen you give a bunch of solid advice to folks, and from the little I’ve gleaned you’re a strong dude, curious as to when it’s gonna start (because we all know that eventually, it is haha)

Ha thanks man, I just love the community and picking peoples brains and such. I have thought about a lot multiple times, and probably will in due time, but I know right now I wouldn’t update it enough and it would turn into to me putting shit in it like once or twice a month. I tend to fall off journals often and write in my own like 2 or 3 times a week even though I train 5-6 days. It is a possibility though and I appreciate the future follows!

Decent day. Deadlifts felt uncomfortable, worked on bringing my hips closer to the bar and not down. Felt strong, 199lbs is a cool place to be. Will be in a super compensation phase for eating the next few days haha
If you need to drop the hips a bit to get closer is all good mane.

Yeah, manage. It’s a tough racket haha hard to make ends meet, I’m lucky because I’m attached to a bigger facility that helps us out if we get in a bind.

Only tricep variation of note was one I saw Matt Wenning do, a tricep fold in, it was good, felt solid, maybe a little rough on the elbows.
I had no real plan on hitting any big numbers today, my upper back is/was fried from back day yesterday, but when you’re hot you’re hot! So I pushed my OHP up another 5lbs. Another fabulous day.

Squats

worked up to 315 for a couple sets of 3, wrist was having nothing to do with it starting at 275, even with wrist wraps, just could not get set up comfortably, lost all tightness, 315 felt like I had a small space shuttle on my back, so I did 3-4 sets of 8 with 225 to accumulate some volume.
Did some RDL with DBs, did some calves, some leg extensions, and some light front squats.
The shoes are going to take some getting used to, feel like I’m coming up on my toes too much, felt stable though, and solid, power wise. I haven’t left the gym angry in a long time, but I was not happy with the workout yesterday, didn’t hit anything that I wanted to (was going to work up to 350+ to feel out the shoes).
Just a rough day all around with working out, hopefully shoulders is better today.
What shoes did you end up getting? They sexy? Matching tights? Pics/nudes pls (of the shoes)
If you are in the gym a lot try tempo squats everyday like a few sets of 1 cookie for 5 so not enough to affect the rest of your lifting. Get you used to the movement in heels and because it’s tempo squatting you can focus on your body’s position
Romoleos 3, and ain’t nobody got time to see me in no damn tights.
The tempo squats are where it’s going to be at, at least 3-5 times a week for a week or two, I’ve done it twice, this was just the first day with any weight, and definitely could’ve pushed it further, but my wrist was screaming at me, I knew there would be an adjustment period and I’m not terribly upset about that, I’m upset about having 3 full days off, eating like a horse, and not coming in and having even a decent workout, ha!
