I grew up in Portland and wasn’t in real close touch with my cousins in Montana for a while. My great great grandfather was a state senator, Mineral county sheriff, and owned a saloon, lol. I have spent time in the Rockin R Bar, the Missoula Club, and Stockman’s. But Bignell doesn’t ring a bell - and it shouldn’t for me, spent very little time in Bozeman. I love it there, it’s very pretty. Well, that kind of goes for Montana in general.

So read, re-read, watched, internally reflected, and now it makes sense. Even the drawing makes sense. Thanks, bro.

I was initially pretty disappointed with my top sets, thinking (for some reason) that 185 was working in my 80-85% range, and that I should be hitting it for 5+…turns out its more like ~93% and I hit it for three doubles…so in hindsight I’m actually pretty happy with it. Pumped up the volume, had a great pump today, general conditioning is coming up with all the supersets the last month or two. Feeling good.

This was a wonderfully informative post.

Congrats on bringing up that poverty bench of yours @Despade

Haha yeah, I was surprised and joyous over the occasion #blessed :joy:

Just came to say congrats!

Hey man, that’s awesome. Is that with a pause or nah?

Thanks, man! That’s a nah, it was deliberate, but not a competition pause or anything. Poverty bench is on the mend haha

Props dude. Wasn’t trying to take anything away from it by asking, I was just curious. A 300 lb bench is nothing to sneeze at! Pretty soon you’ll be hitting 3 wheels and having all the gym sloots 'mirin like they do @guineapig in his man tights

Ha, no I wasn’t offended at all! There is a huuuuge difference between a touch and go and a pause as far as required strength, yeah I was pretty stoked on it for sure.

Re: Gym sloots, unfortunately no one is here to admire my feats of strength except my training partner haha I run the gym, and I open it at 5am, we come in and lift at 3:30am. I am lacking in that type of motivation haha

Hoo boy…stepped into the gym knowing that 315 was gonna suck, but my plan was to beat lord fungus, I mean @lord_humongous!, by at least 1 rep (I really do appreciate the friendly competition, man!) and it touched my soul a little. It was a good one today, and form didn’t break down too badly (I don’t think?) on the last few, which was a concern for me. But hey! I’ll take the small personal victory, because it is a rep PR by 5 at 315 (previous best was 8).

Nice. When repping out I can’t count reliably past 5. I just watch the footage again to get the actual number. Impressive counting

Yeah, it got a little hazy at 8 or so, had to re-watch to make sure I got 13 and not 12 haha

ALL the gainz!! Good job man!

EDIT: Also, that look at the end of the set right before you cut the video says it all!

Haha thanks! Yeah, I was fairly gassed…20 is the new goal at 315 though! Someone around here has been putting up stupid numbers for their PR sets, and I wanted to fit in with the cool kids, so…
