Yep totally a good weekend - and it is only half way done. Though I did need to caffeinate myself for the party (which was fun once I got there) and now I’m up browsing TN at 2am lol! Time to find a movie to fall asleep to.

we are in the same boat LS. I was just thinking I don’t get sleepy in front of the PC, I should check what’s on the tube.

Congrats on your new gym!!

MiM- Thanks!

N - Yeah I crashed as soon as I put something on. The computer certainly doesn’t help me fall asleep.

Sunday training:
5 min bike

Time to play with my high/low cable!

Triset 1
Squats
10@85 x 5

Low cable row
10@50 x 5

Weighted Chin-up
3@10 x 2, 2@10
My body was feeling too fatigued yesterday to do chin-ups so I swapped them with some ab wheeling for the last two sets.

Triset 2
Tricep pushdown
10@20 x 3

Plyo pushups to one phone book
8 x 3

Ab wheel
10 x 3

The weekend wore me out, but I did get a lot done. Weights painted, Christmas shopping done! I feel like I might be coming down with something though. I’m going to hit the hay early tonight and hope it doesn’t fully manifest.

good thing you got everything done…most of my shopping is complete as well(thanks Amazon!)

Tis the season to be sick…seems like its going around a lot…get better fast so you can ‘play,’ in your gym!

oooooh a trap bar!!! My gym doesn’t even have one of those!

I did 80% of my Christmas shopping at home too. It is wonderful to shop from my computer chair - no driving or crowds. I just have to sit and wait for delivery!

Hallowed - I’m pretty excited about the trap bar. I see some farmer’s walks in my future.

Monday’s training:
Deload week!

10 min bike

Bench press
5@50
5@60
5@75

Lat pull down
8@50 x 3

Blact strap push up
8 x 3

Foam rolling

Today was/is insane. I drove 6 hours round trip to do a keynote presentation at a contract cleaning conference, grabbed some food and ran of to karate. We were having a brown belt grading for 5 of our older juniors. They blew me away. I’ve been teaching them since they were wee little white belts and they have come along way. I am so impressed by them. Days like today make me really love teaching. To top it off, I have to pick up my bf from the airport at midnight (hopefully!) if his flight isn’t delayed by our bad weather.

Whew… good thing this is a deload week!

busy busy busy!

My storm will hit me next week. The gifts are not bought. My decorations are not made. My menu is not prepared and I am booked from the 24th to the 28th. big fat hurrah!

Well, last night we had our last karate class for the year. We had our brand new brown belts run the warm-up and they did pretty well. After that we sparred with the kids until the end of class.

I’ve had a hell of a time trying to get down to the basement to do my deload workouts. Seeing as I missed Wednesday, I’m going to try and steal 30 mins for myself tonight before people arrive.

And now I’ve got to rant a bit… Last night I was doing damage control at work and ended up having to stay late. We do bulk blending of oil field chemicals and yesterday we had 2 different bulk loads going out on one compartmentalized truck (~$30 000 worth of chemical). The truck left and in the afternoon we started getting very angry phone calls. Apparently, they truck driver had left the valve between the two compartments open and the two chemicals mixed - not good.

The worst part - the driver was going around telling all of the operators that it was our fault. That we told him that there was only one load. All of the paperwork denotes two separate products. It just pisses me off when people don’t have the balls to admit to their own mistakes and try to blame it on everyone else. It turned out that we can salvage the product, but still… man up and be responsible for your actions!
/rant

Good thing this is a deload week. Sounds like a tough one. Do try to find time for yourself though–it’ll definitely help with the work stress.

Wow, looks like deload weeks in PW aren’t going too well :frowning:

I hope you get that time in for you deload workout

Hope all is well!

Work stress sucks. I hope your workouts are right back on track!

that’s a bad case of the fuck ups.

Thanks everyone. I don’t really like to bitch about work, mostly because I don’t usually have a lot of work stress. But some people out there just have no integrity… In the end everything worked out - the truck driver got reprimanded, the trucking company is going to pay for all lost product and I got a big pat on the back for helping figure out a way to salvage the product.

I’ve been so busy this weekend, I didn’t really have time to log, but I did manage to get myself some time in the gym, and it was wonderful! So here’s what happened.

Friday - quickie before our Christmas party
OHP
5@35, 5@45, 5@55

Dips / Push-ups / Chin-ups circuit
5 / 15 / 5
5 / 15 / 4
5 / 15 / 4

On Saturday we took our home theater system and installed it in the basement (we weren’t really using it upstairs) so now we’ve got a good stereo that is out of the way. We installed the speakers on the roof so they won’t get hit by stray dodgeballs.

Sunday
5 min bike

Squat
Warm-ups
5@50, 5@60, 3@70
Working
5@80
5@90
5@100

I’m adding a 5/3/1 squat day back in to my schedule except I’m starting fairly low and am going to work back up slowly.

Low cable pull-throughs (loved these)
10@20 x 5

I started doing them with a single grip handle, but found that was really stressing my elbow, so I made my own triceps rope grip out of an old karate belt - much better!

Step-ups
45lb bar 10 x 5
20" for the right leg
11" for the left

I couldn’t do the high step with my left, so I stacked up some olympic weights and used those for the left.

Now to try and catch up on all your logs - I’m so far behind lol!

Ooh good idea with the rope for the pull-throughs, I hate using a handle.

Great work!

Monday training:
5 min bike
Blast strap circuit x1

Bench Press
Warm-ups
5@50, 5@65, 5@75
Working sets
5@85
5@95
11@110 (Rep PR +1)

Floor press
10@85 x 5

Chin-ups (randomly between bench and floor press sets)
5 x 5

Dips / DB rows
8 / 10@40 x 5

Rolling, stretching and broomstick dislocates for a cool down.

Awesome bench PR! Damn 11 @ 110. And nice chins–there’s some good volume there.
