I hope your great deal comes through. If so, I’ll be supremely jealous of your power rack.
Nice work on those deadlifts. Phone books will be a thing of the past soon!

wow, Happy Holidays to you, huh?!
Hope the deal works out–looking forward to seeing pictures of your new set up.
Everything went well today. The cage is awesome! It took us 7 hours to pick everything up and set up - a tiring day, but totally worth it.
The weights are quite rusty, but I’m taking them straight to my work and am going to come in on the weekend and restore them. I work at a chemical manufacturing plant (I design cleaning chemicals) so I’m going to clean them up and paint them. It will be a bit of work, but my bf is on a business trip that weekend anyway so it’ll be something for me to do.

Trap bar!
Oh yeah, he also threw in a dip belt, lifting belt, Manta Ray, chalk, straps and a few attachments for the lat pulldown.
Wow! That is an AWESOME setup. Congrats! Are the dip handles close enough together to be useful?
fuckin A!
properly jelly. I have a feeling you’ll make good use of it.

They are closer than I thought they would be. They are quite long and angle in toward each other, so if I’m gripping them at the end they seem close enough for me, but time will tell whether I like them or not.
N - yeah I’m sure I’ll get good use out of it. I’ve been daydreaming about tonight’s workout already!
Congrats, what a beautiful gym you got!
Monday training:
5 min bike
Blast strap circuit x1
Bench press

Working sets
5@90
3@105
1@115
1@125
1@135 PR - came up uneven though
1@135 - a little bit better but not pretty
1@140 - fail
I’m so close to my goal! Though I have added 10lbs to my bench since I last tested. I think I’m going to do another 3 months of 5/3/1 then test again.
BB Floor press
10@80 x 5
Dips / Blast Strap inverted rows superset
7/8 x 4
The dip bars are great now that I actually gave them a try. I can see myself using them a lot.
DB rows
10@ 40 x 3
BB woodchopper twist thingys (not too sure what to call them) Where one end of the barbel is resting on the floor and you twist from side to side.
45lb bar 15 x 3
I’m going to pay for this workout with DOMS this week, but it will be worth it. New movements = sore muscles.
I bought my Tremclad, steel wool and wire brushes so I’m all set for this weekends restoration job.
bench pr is awesome AND you pushed through it twice. good job!
Your new set up looks fabulous. Great job on the bench PR x2. You own 135 now you know. And Ohh you are so close to that BW bench!
N & Nadia - thanks!
Though I don’t think I own 135 quite yet. I’m close. When it goes up pretty I’ll own it!
Last night - I didn’t end up doing much at karate. We had the junior blue belts teaching small groups in preparation for their brown belt grading. Some of them really impressed me with their confidence.
My bf decided he wanted to workout at 10pm, so I spotted him and threw my oly bar around a bit too. I’ve got some good DOMS going on so it felt good to move around a bit and get the blood flowing.
45lbs - 6 reps for all movements
Deadlift
RDL
Bent over row
Power clean
Front squat
Push press
Back Squat
Good morning
Repeated 3 times with 1 min rest between. Nothing special.
Gotta love trying a new exercise. You know for sure you’re gonna feel them the next day.
Great work on the PR, you’re making some good progress with that bench.
Nothing like blood flowing to help with DOMS.

No, but we were wearing black masks!
So last night I wasn’t even planning on training because I didn’t think I’d have time. However, I came home from work to find that my neighbour shoveled my walk and driveway which left me enough time to squeeze in a workout. Now to pay it forward!

Then I ran off to go to the gun range for a friend’s birthday. I shot 30 rounds on various hand guns, but my friend went all out and shot everething she could!
Today I removed the rust and painted 340 lbs of olympic weights and 150 lbs of standard plates. I’m exhausted - it was quite a bit of work. I’m going to have to drag myself to a Christmas party tonight, but it will be fun when I get there I’m sure.
