Here is a vid of me squatting 425 for 5 reps.
I feel i have been squatting too depth, but after filming it, i am questioning if this would green light in a meet?
I have a upcoming meet with the RPS federation.
Honest answers please!
I can only speak for an IPF meet because that is the fed I compete in however the first 3 probably wouldn’t pass in our meets. 4 and 5 were probably good. You’re definately not miles high or anything. Its also hard to judge depth with shorts and a tshirt sometimes, in a singlet they’d probably be even closer.
I would agree. first three were really on the line, 4 and 5 looked decidedly deep enough. That’s not a bad sign though, it shows that the mobility is there at least haha. Just make sure you sink the meet lifts deeeep, so theres no question. Maybe practice/film a couple heavy singles just to be sure you are confident in yourself.
And you can always have a friend call depth for you haha
ok, cool. i just watched some RPS videos of squats, and i think the depth on the last 2 will pass, but i will deff sink down more in training!
The video is a little awkward because it would appear as though the camera is tilted counter-clockwise. I say this because the supports on your squat rack aren’t level on the video. They were all pretty close, and I think they could have gone either way the day of the meet.
You obviously can hit depth so sink it and don’t leave any chance of getting red lighted.

Exactly that. There’s no reason to risk it and NOT go low.
