Welp, Australia is where I was born and raised. But I totally agree with the amount of racism. I live in the US now with an American wife and American born son, I have permanent residency. I also have British/European citizenship and lived in various parts of England for 5 years. With all of that said. Australian racism is loud and clear and nothing is hidden, American racism is just as bad (if not worse) but frustrates me more than Australians because it is always masked under some false guise. Everybody here drops racist remarks but will never own up to it and always makes an excuse, Australians are fucking horrible and will call a chinese kid a “chink” to his face and never think anything of it. One of my brothers best friends is half Masai, but he essentially just looks black. Since black people aren’t exactly common in Australia he was routinely referred to as my brothers “nigga mate”, and it wasn’t even intended to be racist, it was just outright fuckin ignorant.
As far as calling somebody a cunt that’s just an Australian thing. Replace the words “mate”, “friend”, “bro”, “dude” etc with the word “cunt” and that’s what you have. It’s rarely a malicious word.
In the end, I have to just sum it up with a quote:
"Lady. People aren’t chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. Bastard coated bastards with bastard filling. "[/quote]
Agree with a lot but in re to not a lot of black people? where were u living, did u ever get out of your upper middle class suburb like to regional areas or poorer parts of your city, u know a lot like your American cities, ever go to the northern part of Australia?
I have black frinds that call me a white cunt and i call them a black cunt, so what? You Americans are to caught up with the colour of people, it supressed to a extremly unhealthy level for everyone in r society and that is why in areas it is so sick. Nah, I never said I didn’t enjoy my time in Australia. It’s still my fucking home and my entire family is still there. I was born there and raised there and it shaped who I am and is still home. I love Australia. It will ALWAYS be home. I’m from Sydney btw (Northern Beaches). Don’t refer to me as “you American”. I’m not a citizen yet, I AM still an Australian citizen. I love the US (Obviously there are aspects I hate like I imagine everywhere else in the world) but it isn’t my home yet.
When I was saying that there’s not a lot of black people in Australia, yes, I was largely referring to Sydney but more than that I was saying there aren’t many people of African descent (let’s not get into the whole “The world started in Africa” thing, you know what I’m saying) not talking about Mauri, Tongan, Aboriginal, Fijian etc. And more than that, as diverse as Australia is with Greeks, Lebanese, Indonesians etc etc it’s still pretty fucking segregated (everybody knows the “Greek” area’s of their city or the Indonesian area’s) and racism is still pretty rampant, mainly from the dudes from country towns but still, it exists and it isn’t hidden at all. How often do you hear about aboriginal AFL players being slandered? Indian or Pakistan cricketers being slurred and even the Pac Islander rugby players having dirt thrown on them? That’s all I was trying to say. Even in those cases the majority of the occurrences aren’t intended as “racist”, they are just incredibly fucking ignorant, and that’s where the problem lies.
Also, In my initial post summarizing all the general stereotypes the actual point I was trying to make about Australia is that people don’t get bent out of shape for nothing. They can actually take a joke and if something is offensive or not politically correct but is stated in the context of a joke then people don’t give a shit, you kinda just killed that whole theory by getting upset.
I’m not trying to attack you or anything, I just wanted to clarify the points I was trying to make. Cool?

That’s because you live in Colorado, probably the whitest state in the US (we’re not just talking about the snow here). The only time people in Colorado see black people is when they’re watching the Nuggets play.

For fucks sake read what has already been written. I AM AUSTRALIAN. I WAS TALKING ABOUT AUSTRALIA. SPECIFICALLY SYDNEY.
Furthermore, I made it a pretty obvious statement that I FUCKING HATE COLORADO and am moving back to NY in less than week. The 3 years I have spent here in Denver have been fucking awful. I can’t even pretend to sugar coat it or make excuses. COLORADO IS THE BUTTHOLE OF AMERICA’S KNEECAP AND I HATE HATE HATE IT.
New York is the tits though, I fucking love NY and can’t wait to be back.

If that’s a question to me then I love Kiwi’s. I’ve never been to NZ (only one in my family that hasn’t) so I dunno what the country itself is like be the people are fucking awesome (some might even say that they are “choice”… I have no fucken clue of Kiwi’s still say that.)

You mentioned that you think veiled racism is pertinent in America and considering you’re living/lived in Colorado, I assumed that’s where most of your experiences with `American prejudice’ have been.

I can literally count on one hand the number of Kiwis who I’ve met who I didn’t like - and I’ve met a ton of them, both in Japan and Canada. The ones I’ve known have tended to be really chill, genuinely funny (not “Australian funny”), and really curious about the world outside NZ. I think we share a lot of similarities, both being “little brother” countries - I’ve always felt there was a connection between Canada and NZ.

haha, as much as it can be annoying I know you meant it with humour BUT, when that gets used in a real argument against Germans and the British, we feel validated in thinking Americans are just typical of the moronic society it has these days.
But, who do you trust? German engineers or Walmart?
You have to admit though, hawt German girls beat the hell out of their American and British rivals. They’re smart without the stuck-up bitch persona.

Really? That surprises me a lot. I’m not saying I don’t believe you, just that it’s surprising. I haven’t “lived” in Aus since 2005 but I spend at least a month per year back home and it doesn’t seem that different? I also don’t know if i’d refer to anything as “white racism”, racism is racism regardless of who preaches it and who it’s directed at. How old are you? I know that most of what I’m talking about comes from the older generation (40years plus) so maybe if you’re like 18-20 it’s rare amongst you (I’m 28).
I’m not trying to shit on my home, like I have said I love Australia and I don’t think it’s the only place with racism, far from it.
