Not a boxing guy, train karate, but thought guys that box or like old school training would find this interesting.
thanks for the link, I actually had Londonboxer123 give me a different link to the same thing. Still, some casual web viewer might not have known that so it is good you give it more profile.
Great link, thanks for posting it.
Sometimes I can find this book, then the links die or disappear, but archive.org is pretty solid in that respect.
Thanks again dude.
Great book. I really like Dempsey’s writing style. Very “salt-of-the-earth”. I hear he was a really cocky, arrogant guy during his heyday but, he comes off as very humble guy in his writing. He’s definitely a boxer I would have loved to have been able to watch in person.
My favorite story about Dempsey was when he was 78 years old 2 punks tried to mug him in front of his restaurant one night, not knowing who he was. He fought back, knocking down and the other took off in fear. He also wrote a great book on self defense and street fighting as well. Great American hero.
Of my “List of People I would Like to Have a Beer With”, he would be up there.
actually read that book long time ago, definitely worth the read.
Would this book be useful reading for someone who has never had any boxing training, but has an interest in self defence?

I think it would be valuable for his description of the power line and the chanelling of force from the legs to the fist.
