We got started at 23:30 and just kept at it. Sun never sets.
Running could be the salvation for you, go a couple of times and do it on your own too. Gives yourself time to meditate and if you keep a positive mind it would be good.
Btw try not to drink coffee after 3 - 4 in the afternoon.
It helps me when I can’t sleep.
Yes I’ll try to spend more time outside, go on some hikes as well. Burns calories in the process too so that’s great!
I have spent time without caffeine at all. I’ll just reduce
100% I’ve started doing regular “rucks” with a weight vest on. I’m sure it burns some calories and whatever, but the main benefit for me is being away from everyone and everything for an hour or so. Sometimes i put a podcast on, sometimes I just like the silence.
Yeah it really makes you feel good. I’ll force myself to go out more. Plus this is the first year I have like a tan. Now let’s egalize it!
Didn’t sleep great but it’s because of the alcohol lol. yesterday’s session:
Colossus - Push 2
Okay, so still not used to the 60 secs rest. The pump was incredible once again. Felt really good appart from perhaps the first exercise? I was struggling a bit. Hex presses felt amazing with a big flex at the top, the chest feeling was amazing. Some weights were a bit high like the shoulder press (I almost fell because of the shitty bench the second set, and I had no back support so I just did the 14 khs but my shoulders were TOASTED) or the skullcrushers were deceptively hard. All in all once again a quick easy feel good session.
I’ll do the second legs tomorrow because I don’t have time today.
So, first week feelings: the program feels amazing. the first three days are really, really hard, the three last makes you feel really good. Maybe it’s because I train like my life depended on it, or the program that is pure hypertrophy, but I feel and look bigger, and also slightly leaner. The pump is icnredible. Everyday people come and compliment me at the gym. This week was nice for my confidence and ego. I’m certainly not the strongest here but actually the jackest/rippest, certainly the most aesthetic at least, and this is motivating me to push harder and be even stricter. Vascularity is insane. My calves and ass are still incredibly sore. I’ll try to really lower alcohol consumption to get the 10% I need to get to the next level.
Treating myself like a king, then let’s get RIPPED
Mate, its great to hear this kind of thing from you.
This isn’t great, because I live in windy, rainy Britain so fuck you with your tan.
It’s a work in progress but I try to be less hard on myself. And at some point even someone not really confident has to acknowledge what everyone is saying. Had a good chat with friends yesterday about the future and my plans. It really motivated me. Work in the gym is really paying as well so it is easier to be positive.
Diet is really dialed in it’s not a chore, but a pleasure. Just stayed up a bit more and prepped meals for tomorrow instead of taking the easy way of eating burgers for free at work. Problem now is alcohol. I don’t drink in the week but I want to get out, party, meet people etc and it’s hard to resist the siren’s song of summer. Problem is also than then I eat shit.
Anyway thanks… Yeah well the weather here has sucked for a week. Even got hail today!
Colossus - Legs 2
Very quick pump session, around 35 mins. This pseudoi leg press feels waaay better than the one at my previous gym. ROM was great I did a really good stretch, maybe even too much? Weight proved more challenging as well. I like it. My goal will be to max it out, then my legs will certainly stronger.
Ughh some guy was hogging the smith machine and actually spending time on the phone… And of course because of the virus wouldn’t take turns. So I did the Nordic curls before, and did Goblet squats instead of smith machine squats (I figured it would have been a better hack squat replacement). With the 50 kgs KB it proved a good abs stimulus as well. Did them with heels elevated and ass to grass. Overall nice fast one
It’s good to see some positive vibes in here. ![]()
Well you helped, guys.
Colossus - Pull heavy
Great session as well but some hiccups from my part. 50 + bar was too heavy for the rows. My grip actually was failing, and I only did 7 reps on the left arm. I’ll remember to start my unilateral exercises with this side. I’ll go lighter next time, before I consider a strap, because I think it was still a bit heavy to really focus on the lats.
On the rack pulls I managed to gain an extra 5 inches of ROM, and I really underestimated it. 180 was too heavy, I couldn’t focus on my lats and my lower back strained too much. I’ll use 160 next time. Health > ego.
Fucked up with the Meadows rows because I read the weight I used from another exercise. I only used 35 kgs last week. 50 was way too heavy, but I gave it all, and the reps weren’t as pristine as I’m used to. But 40 was really fine.
Better on pull-ups as well. Trying to mimick the form with the band by arching a lot, keeping the elbows in front and being like on a rail.
I sucked hard at v-up lol.
Arm stuff was fun and good. Long hard session, around 1h20. Going to the gym is nice, and exchanging with guys about sports and all is refreshing. The endorphine rush from this program is absolutely bonkers.
On another note, my friend who I should start blogging already drafted me a quick sample website this morning. Incredible result, and this is just a shitty draft, but it looks like the website of a multinational! Well it’s expected from one of the best web engineers in the region. This is unexpected and super exciting.
I think that after Colossus I’ll lean down a bit, maybe do another shoot to have some more material? This is motivating. Another friend who’s a part-time photographer wants to do some modeling with me as well. It will be fun. Today I finished writing a program from a friend who will make a logo and a visual identity for the brand lol. This is so motivating. And I have never, fished for coaching, or make people charge, but there’s a colleague from work that wants to hire me as his coach and write him stuff, for payment. Sure let’s do it!
Part of me still longs for affection. What do you do when you see a super hot girl checking you out in the gym? You go talk to her of course. But what if she comes with two guy friends. Ugh.
I don’t care actually. I’m not in a rush at all. I’ll be patient. I’m not afraid anymore. I know what I’m worth as a person, plus I’m good looking. I’ll eventually meet someone who I really like and click with. That’s a nice feeling, telling yourself that. But maybe it’s the T, the age? I feel like I’m checking out every girl. Ughh men…
Push - Heavy
Really happy with the DB bench. before lockdown I couldn’t do the 40s. I lacked balance, or it was my shoulders. So I was already stocked to use them last week, and this time for 12 reps??? Super happy. I am stronger that last week, yesterday I was as well, despite getting drunk friday and not much sleep these days. I guess training like a crazy person pays. I probably eat a bit more as well, but zero fat gain this week.
On the incline I had to use the 45° bench, which is way harder and I never liked. This time at elast it didn’t bugged my shoulder, but I used less weight. it was hard as fuck, and honestly this is the time I regret not having a partner.
The rest went smoothly. I love their chest machine omg. But meh, sets of 6 weren’t cutting it for me, despite the pause and forced conrtaction. I could have used more weight as well. But I would have rather used more reps and make it burn.
For the arms I’ll remember to start with my left arm as well. I only manage 10 reps on the second set, and I used an eye popping intensity. Like the last rep lasted 5 real seconds.
Happy about this session once again. And about my strength on some stuff. 18kgs on the laterals with good form? I couldn’t raise my arms too high afterwards for quite some time ahahah
Went out of my comfort zone and chatted very quickly with a girl. Just enjoying life as I can. Not putting any pressure on myself
Liking the current positivity in here! Liking the look of the routine too.
You still go talk to her a them too. That way it’s not creepy.
Do this, don’t get to obsessed with getting to that 10%, You’re having a ball right now, eating clean and probably in a slight deficit during the week and then hang loose during the weekend.
That’s what I would do, and as others have said, it’s really good to see you in that positive mood.
And well not to forget, great lifting as well.
Yeah I think you’re right. Plus this program isn’t supposed to be done in a cut anyway. I’m really enjoying how I’m eating, a little bit more, and I still lost a tiny bit of weight, or at least I feel like it, and I feel bigger. I guess training like a madman consumes more calories than I thought.
Colossus - Legs heavy
Alright hi, everybody. Happy with the session. Still with a heart busting intensity, like my lips were trembling after many sets, but I don’t know, I like it, to give absolutely everything.
Leg curl iso-holds are a pure torture after the 18 reps. Satisfied with the squats. Heavier than last session. I understimated by lower back abilities. I think I tried to stay a little bit too upright. It was really hard but I managed to stay super tight and I’m happy with my form. I have to put my belt a little bit higher otherwise it might move. Damn weight loss!
Unfortunately I don’t have a hack squat so I decided to try smith machine squats, with heel elevated and a close stance, ATG. These were nice. Probably more back action than the machine hack squat, but heh. I could push harder than on the real squat.
The leg press, God I love it. It has some pulley so it feels a bit like a band leg press. The ability to go bananas, and several reps I did and I didn’t know if I would complete them, feels good. I don’t have to worry about failure. But god damn, I was in so much pain, people must have thought I was insane. Some reps were legit 4-5 secs concentrics. All the drop sets were in the 6-8 range so that’s about 30 fucking hard reps. I was walking very slowly afterwards.
Good feeling with the pullthroughs. Extending my hips farther than on the deadlift made me really feel and contract my butt.
Calves were easier than last week. Overall a good, HARD, session, but more enjoyable than last week.
Colossus - Pull pump
A. Pull ups 3 x max (18, 14, 12)
B. Chest pulls 2 x 10 with 20 kgs
C. Machine rows 3 x 10 with 75, 80, 80 kgs
D. Hyperextensions 45° 1 x 12, 1 x 11 with 90 kgs
E. Pinwheel curls 1 x 15, 1 x 14 with 12 kgs
F. EZ bar curls, 4 secs eccentric, 2 x 6 with 30 kgs
Went to the beach this afternoon with friends, we just chilled, got a tan, and chatted about guy stuff. Really cool time.
Workout was around 35 min, fast and nice. More pull-ups than last time, but my forearms were still really sore. I’m going to try intra workout carbs, as per advised. I’m poor, so nothing fancy, just around 30 gr maltodextrine.
I think I was a bit greedy with the 90 kgs hypers (zercher style) but heh I managed to do it so…
Arms were so tough… When you get to this part they are already fried… But goddamn they looked so big, mean and vascular!
Me likey!
Then I ate a pizza, american style. But it was terrible, mostly dough and crust, so little peperonni and cheese… I was mad so I ate a rillette sandwich. So now I’m double mad because my cheats weren’t tasty and I feel guilty of the calories. Ughhhh
I eat a soft, chewy candy. It’s called Starburst here in the States.
Man, I hate it when my cheats don’t hit the spot. That’s probably why I can count the restaurants I visit per year on one hand. Why risk it?
Yeah… You wait for this cheat, you imagine the tastiness in your mouth… the reward… AND NO
Awesome workouts you’re killing it.
And we all know the feeling of eating way to much of something that tasted bad and had bad macros. But hey you had a great time. Don’t eat from that place the next time.
Yeah it’s ok, I’ve got quite a lot of cheats lately. But if my post workout is a 1100 cal pizza instead of the usual 800-900 it’s really not a big deal
