Additionally, if you wind up with a tattoo you later find silly, it gives you something to laugh at every time you see it granted you don’t do something wild like get one on your face or neck. Two of mine are like that, I don’t hate them by any means but they’re silly and meaningless.
Yes, I want both. Nothing wrong in enjoying something cool looking!
I know I can count on the T-nation crew to motivate me to go out of my comfort zone and actually do stuff ![]()
Today the leg pump day but it was really tough (everything with 1 min of rest):
Leg curl 3 x 12 with 45kgs
Stiff Leg DL 6, 7 x 140 kgs
Squat 3 x 10 with 100 kgs
Split Squat 10 x 40kgs, 50 kgs
Calves on leg press 2 x 10 + 10 partials + 15 secs
This crushed me! Really good feeling with the leg curl but I had just no juice for the deadlift (training fresh out of bed really is harder…). I was supposed to 10 reps, last time I was doing my drop set at 10 reps with 120ks but as a last exercise! So I figured first exercise let’s put some weight on but noooooope. Only 6 and 7. My legs were dying! But my bracing was really good so I was happy
The squat was tough with this tiny weight… But my left knee hurt a bit later. Even with this weight,f atigued if I push a bit hard my knee were caving a bit. I think that I lose tension in my leg/glutes when I go too deep. So next time I’ll take extra care about this, I’ll just use less weight and focus on perfect form even if it’s 50 of my max (let’s kill the ego)
Spend 3 hours at the beach and tanned nicely. Bathed even! It was very hot and enjoyable, and so many people were there enjoying it as well
There are far more pressing things one could regret later in life. If a tattoo is at the top of the list, then that’s not too terrible a predicament.
A few thousand posts behind in your log mate, but I can see some things never change. Killing it, as usual.
Thank you mate, I’m doing my best!
This is something I think about a lot. I don’t have any tattoos but appreciate them on others. My son asked my today why I do not have a tattoo and it was a hard question to answer. My best response is that I have never found anything I like enough to want to have permanently drawn on my body. I would worry How do you decide on something (even if it has meaning) and what if it doesn’t look good or be a good representation of the meaning. I guess it is very personal and I admire people who have enough conviction to chose something. Saying that I also have plenty of mates who didn’t take time to pick and they have a great collection of shit tats.
It’s what I find interesting: it’s typically folks that DON’T have ink that place a lot of significance on it. I only have 1, but not for lack of wanting: I got it, then fell in love with a girl whose family has a pretty negative view on tattoos (only convicts and sailors have them), and out of respect/love for them I’ve abstained. That said, the Mrs has been pretty open to me getting some more as of recently, and I may celebrate surviving this epidemic by getting some more once we’re maskless at the parlors.
This may well be true. Maybe that’s why they don’t have them in the first place.
For sure. My dad is like that. Which is funny too, because growing up he always told me to feel free to get one, but that he just couldn’t think of anything he wanted on his body forever, haha.
That’s what I tell myself too but maybe that just something I tell myself and the real reason is I just do like them enough.
I don’t have tatoos myself. I don’t have anything against them and find them cool on other in some instances and uncool in others.
That said, since Pwn brought up his dad: I would have absolutely to tell mine in a very public place and maybe prepare myself to make a quick exit, haha. No idea why he has such a strong stance against them. Not that it would hold me back nowadays.
My dad has many horrible prison tattoos, even around his eyes lol. My mom also has some pretty ugly youth tats
Ah yes that’s why I think you shouldn’t always rush it. My tatt has an important meaning for me, but I also think it’s cool. But I also want some tatts that apart from showing my love for mythology and everything around it, are mainly for being cool looking
Tonight some running:
5 K in 24 mins
3 min rest
30 mins confortable run with every 5 mins either:
10 burpees or 20 push-ups + 20 squats
Total: 972 calories spent looooool
@ChongLordUno I didn’t cheat actually because I didn’t want it that much, or nothing that I craved that much, but I bumped up my calories by 200. Perhaps I’ll take a bit of pie afterwards? But I’m afraid it might unleash the bear in me.
Edit: actually ate a chocolate bar because fuck it ahahah. After all I only drank one beer this whole week including the week-end, and I stayed within my macros and didn’t eat McDonald’s at all! (first time in many many months). Then 3000 more steps and I got to 20K
This noon’s meal:
Pics from tonight. We can’t see it with the shit lightning but I’m very sunburnt and red from yesterday’s beach so that’s why I might look a bit watery. But even then we can see veins popping on the abs:
Guys, I don’t have a tattoo in large part because it looks like that shit hurts.
Yeah the filling was a bit painful with my sensitive skin, but if you can power through a gruesome leg workout, you can do this
Exactly. When have you ever seen me power through gruesome leg workout.
A chocolate bar ![]()
You’re such a hell raiser
But I love chocolate!
Meaning? ![]()
Hell raiser - hedonist
Larger and more detailed tattoos hurt. A lot. For one piece that took longer than expected, the artist had to give me a glucose pill afterwards because she thought I was going to pass out. I wince whenever I see men getting huge chest pieces.
But something small is over quickly and not too bad in my experience, even if you have super sensitive skin. Definitely not as painful as a gruesome lower body workout.
