Decimation Food Log

You guys told me yoghurt is bad for you.

It’s not bad for you but here is your issue. You were eating 300cal yogurt with 15-20g protien(or so). This is not good for losing fat.
If it was 20g that is 80cals of the 300.

To say nothing of the fact that all they’re talking about is elevating insulin, not at all taking into consideration how protein ALSO elevates glucagon alongside insulin, meaning it doesn’t cause a blood sugar spike compared to a carbohydrate induced insulin elevation.

But anything to move an e-book! This is why listening to talking heads on Instagram is a bad scene.

Since you seem to struggle so much - maybe try limiting your sugar intake to no more than 36 grams of Added Sugars (look at food labels) and no more than 50 grams of total sugar - counting fruit. I feel like this could really help you reign things in if you stick to it.

IMO he also needs to understand the difference between food that may be good for you but are very calorie dense and not ideal for dieting.

This could be 800cals on it’s own if not more. Granola is a great food but very calorie dense.

not sure what granola you’re eating but most I’ve seen from the stores are loaded with added sugar

it’s low sugar

Nothing with 800 calories in a shot should be referred to as “Skinny”.

Define “low”. How many grams per serving? How many servings did you eat?

Always read labels BEFORE you eat something. Note the serving size, calories, protein and sugar content. You’ve got to really start paying attention or you’re never going to escape this cycle.

In fairness, I also imagine the serving was never intended to be done “by the bowl”.

Just like how most servings of cereal can actually fit inside a standard coffee mug, but we’ve all been conditioned to eat a bowlful. And same with ice cream, haha.

Both of these are spot on.

As others have said, you really need to read the nutrition label before being fooled by marketing. Just because it says "skinny’ or “low sugar” doesn’t mean it’s the right selection for you.

Don’t make this a harder process to follow unless you want to spend time making it. IMO your time would be better spent prepping meals for the week.

My dad ran into this very issue. He lost 40lbs following a whole foods based ketogenic diet, and I was really excited for him and proud of him
but he was a slave to needing variety, and the demands of cooking SO much damn food eventually overcame him and he completely abandoned course. There was no middleground: either I’m making ALL my food and it’s a wide variety and it’s keto OR I’m eating junkfood. Last we spoke, he signed up for some sort of nutrisystem like program, thinking that, as long as someone ELSE makes the food for him and all he has to do is heat it and eat it, he’ll be good. I imagine “off menu snacking” is going to be the downfall on that.
