ive never seen a band similar to Korn.

no one has shit on their bassist, period. its what gave them a unique fast and heavy sound that i honestly havent heard since.

ORLY?

theres absolutely nothing heavy or fast about those, the only similarity is they use bass for a lead sound.

tommy the cat sounds nothing like these

…omg Primus sucks so bad lol.
Rust in Peace and Peace Sells by Megadeth.

I don’t know why Black Label is even being mentioned as a metal band. I love their sound but there is nothing metal about them other than Zakk Wylde’s affiliation with Ozzy.

Other good metal acts that I haven’t seen listed:

Machine Head
Soulfly
Fear Factory
Chimaira

Bring me the horizon.

thats all that needs to be said.

The classic Death Metal bands:

Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Obituary, Six Feet Under, Death, Morbid Angel.

NILE - lashed to the slave stick

I don’t know if anyone has posted this yet I’m still on page 4 but it’s a good song and band!!

Yeah, Nile are pretty good (though they never seem to reach their potential).

Never liked Cannibal Corpse, SFU (god awful imo) and obituary much…

Love Death, esp. past the first 2 albums… Morbid Angel have done some good stuff… Deicide have some decent solos here and there but are too simple for me…

Paul Gilbert (another of my favorite shredders):

saw him play last week and it was the best live show I have been to in my life. he played stuff from Mr Big, Racer X and a lot of his solo stuff too. what struck me wasnt the speed (there are a lot of very fast shredders out there) but the virtuoso

Not too many mentions of Lamb of God i think they deserve a shot Randy has some of the best growls/screams in metal in my opinion.

I saw him play with Mr.Big in the 80’s. Incredible. And I just remembered I saw Billy Sheehan with Talas back in the early 80’s as well. We could not believe he was playing a bass like you would a guitar…or EVH would.

ha, most the bands on the Amazon list suck but wow you can tell Coal Chamber was listening to a lot of Korn before they put their album together.

Actually,Coal Chamber is heavily influenced by Fear Factory(albeit they’re more industrial). Slipknot/Mudvayne is straight up Fear Factory as well. Ironically, you can hear Fear Factory in Korn as well.

Korn is more influenced by Cameo,Funkadelic,Rick James,Faith No More, and TONS of hip hop…especially Public Enemy.

Which was cool until they decided to be something they’re not…they lost their “funk”…literally. You should give Fear Factory a listen if you never have…especially Archetype and Obselete albums:

Fear Factory-Cyberwaste:

Fear Factory-Bonescraper:

Fear Factory-Shock:

Fear Factory - Slave Labor:

Oh yeah…and FUUUUCKK YOU!!!
I’ve seen Fear Factory 3 times live.

Fucking awesome.

The new Opeth is pretty damn good.

I always thought Misery Index was good.

I also found about these guys while surfing last night. Crucifix.

This is GREAT stuff.

anyone got any bands similar to System of a Down? they only had 1 good album IMO, everything else is just ehhh
