I like Death Cab.

Sometimes you just feel melancholy.
Death Cab pumps me up on leg day.

No really though, I like them too. Do they remind anyone else of The Killers?

Fixed it for you.

I agree with Live about not liking the vocals. There was an extreme metal thread not too long ago that I was learning about bands from. A lot of the bands had good music, but the vocals were almost enough to turn me away from them.

Here are the metal bands that I like in no particular order: Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Dio, Judas Priest, Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth, Queensryche, Slayer, Type O Negative, Danzig, Pantera, Tool, Marilyn Manson, Motorhead, Accept, Ministry, Iron Maiden, Killswitch Engage, and (puts on flame-resistant suit) Avenged Sevenfold

I think you have very good taste, Geebus. Very nice.

EPIC song… obZen gets me fired up like nothing else.

So far anyone that has posted Mastodon, Anthrax and Meshuggah (along with the other bands they listed) understand metal

I’m surprised these are not on the list:

Darkest Hour
Protest the Hero
Underoath (the non-emo stuff)
As I Lay Dying

my favorite metal band without a doubt is Protest the Hero. They are fucking unbelievably good and unworldly in the talent department.

Allow me to represent my favorite flavor of metal…

Parkway Drive “Romance is Dead”

As I Lay Dying “Through Struggle”

Deadlock “Code of Honor”

Emmure “Soundwave Superior”

Bleeding Through “Kill to Believe”

Killswitch Engage “End of Heartache”

Well, as long as we’re chiming in with our metal lists once again -

Cryptopsy
Suffocation
Decapitated
Aborted
Exhumed
Nile
Gorguts
Disavowed
Pig Destroyer
Dying Fetus
Morbid Angel
Orbituary
Necrophagist
Cephalic Carnage
Psycroptic
Spawn of Possession
Immolation
hell, I’ll even throw Deceide in there.

Just a few.
Haha, I actually saw them live last summer. They’re incredibly boring and uninspired in my opinion.
You know, they started that whole sound.

+1
Saw them a few months ago when they toured Australia, this song is just insane live

High on Fire (if you can listen to “Hung, Drawn and Quartered” without banging your head you deserve to be forcibly ejected from life itself)

Helloween

And probably the most accessible out of all of them; Strapping Young Lad. Good stuff.

Hell yeah. Anyone who sings about Hell is a good find.

Here are some more songs that you can look up if you have the initiative. I’m drunk, so . . . . I don’t. Feel like linking them, I mean.

Song - Band
Silence Makes Noise - Vesania
The Cold Wind Of My Breath Is Always Blowing - Nifheim
Trolldom - Taake
Crown Of Fire - Kult Ov Azazel
Primitive Death - Nattefrost
This Empty Life - Coldworld
Ventres Noirs - Aes Dana
Veles´ Scrolls - Nokturnal Mortum
The Return of the Pagan Fullmoon - Uruk Hai ,<–Awesome!!
Mysteries - Sterbend
Legio Draconorum Orkian - Nazgul
Blood Oath - Black Witchery
Storm Of Vengeance - Aeba

That should get you started.

*All bands certified as great black metal by T-Nation member Brant_Drake and his alter ego, Ernest Hemingway.

Have you heard Wintersun?

Amazingly skilled band.
Wintersun…cookie monster metal…some good stuff there

Throw in some Bullet For My Valentine, Cage, Mastodon, and Sun Caged just for the hell of it.

BLS pretty damn good!

I don’t understand why it’s considered such a bad thing, when a band goes “mainstream”. Isn’t it a good thing, as long as they put out what they want to, and stay true to themselves and their music?

I’m not a huge metal fan but I do love Pantera.

is Turtle from Entourage the lead singer from Emmure?
