Can’t wait for this!
It’s basically going to be Noctambulant part 2, and that makes me a happy man :)
Ah… Yes… My precious… ;D
Last Wintersun album I listened to was… Their self-titled… I take it they’ve released a few more by now?
I liked the first, gotta get a hold of whatever else they’ve out there.

Noctambulant is MY precious
Jari is STILL trying to make the 2nd album, and it’s taken aboutr 1000 years for that to happen, or so the joke goes.

Well not to distract from the Death Metal part of the thread but here are a couple other genre’s of metal that I’ve been listening to lately. (Note-I’m not the best with what fits in what genre LOL) Anyways Ensiferum…
Ensiferum - Battle Song
Ensiferum - Death Bringer From the Sky
Ensiferum - Raised by the Sword
Ensiferum - Knighthood
Ensiferum - Victory Song (long ass song! start at like 2 mins, 3 mins kicks off)
What I like:
-pretty good guitaris
-pretty good drums
-decent vocals
-goes well together
What I dislike:
-I know they are viking folk metal but the whole slay a dragon type theme gets kinda gay
-some songs take like 3-5 minutes before they take off
-the flutes and some additional stuff should be tossed out, give me drums and guitars and play it fast! lol
Something new (BATTLE SONG is the best, followed by Knighthood imo)
Your dislikes are some of the main reasons why I like Viking/Folk Metal, it feels like I’m going into battle to rape, pillage, and plunder.
But I see your Ensiferum and raise you
Wintersun - Starchild
Wintersun - Beautiful Death
Wintersun - Beyond the Dark Sun
Wintersun - Death and the Healing
^ The Most Epic Solo. Ever.
I prefer Jari’s project with Wintersun instead of Ensiferum
DANG!
Wintersun was the next hand I was going to play! lol
I agree, I think they are better than Ensiferum personally.
I hear that they are coming out with more stuff but those who I’ve heard that from say that they were let down by what their heard so far =S
Psycroptic - Ob(Servant)
Psycroptic - An Experiment In Transience
Psycroptic - Skin Coffin
Psycroptic - Psycrology
Psycroptic - The Valley of Winds Breath and Dragons Fire
Psycroptic - A Planetary Discipline
Psycroptic - Colour of Sleep
Psycroptic - Lacertine Forest
Psycroptic- Epoch of The Gods
Psycroptic - Alpha Breed
and of course
Psycroptic - The Scepter of Jaar-Gilon

I love that band. (And even though I say band, it was actually Jari himself who wrote that entire album, and played everything except drums.)

Yea I don’t see the “rip off” at all. I like In Flames though, the new just as much as the old.
Not sure if anyone here has heard of these guys:

Deadlock - Losers’ Ballet
Older Deadlock stuff:

Deadlock - Earth Revolt
Joe Satriani - Day at the Beach
Joe Satriani - Always with me, always with you
Steve Vai - For The Love Of God
Steve Vai - Tender Surrender
John Petrucci - Glasgow Kiss
Dream Theater - Erotomania
Dream Theater - Ytse Jam
Paul Gilbert - Technical Difficulties
Paul Gilbert - Scarified

Marty Friedman - Saturation Point
Jason Becker - Perpetual Burn
Jason Becker - Altitudes
Jason Becker - Air
Most of it isn’t even metal, but I feel this music is deff worthy of being posted.
I know we’re being accepting of “all” metal… but dammit, I must post some brutal. I think Deadlock is pushing it a little bit.

Metal’s all I listen to when lifting. I don’t know how anyone can push themselves to crank out a final quality deadlift with the B-52s playing over the gym’s speakers. Lately I like: Arsis, the Human Abstract, the Haunted, If Hope Dies, and Before the Fall. throws the goats

The Haunted is good, I think they are highly under rated.
