Wow! I haven’t heard Gutted in forever. Bleed for Us to Live (1994) was pretty decent, and then they had another album after that, but the mid-90’s weren’t kind to death metal at that time. Tons of bands just disappeared.

And Resurrection were such an underrated band…their '93 Embalmed Existence was great. I know they’re back together and put an album out in '08, but the scene has changed so much. Check out some older Brutality as well…good shit!

Shining is unbelievable. More depressive black metal… but there are blast beats in there. It just builds and builds and the tortured vocals are beautiful.
