Rob… you are an attorney right? I am a paralegal who works for a landlord/tenant attorney. I just don’t see how you have a problem dealing with this. With your scenario there is more than enough justification and a responsibility of the condo association.
I hope there is more that you’ve done and just haven’t mentioned because you’ve been a bit ineffectual in this circumstance. I would not be hiring you based on this case.
all it takes to file a lawsuit is the filing fee.
OctoberGirl, you are quite obviously a paralegal and not an attorney. There is OBVIOUSLY many complications with regard to this situation. First, this isn’t a landlord/tenant issue. The woman with BPD OWNS her condo. And, I am not the attorney hired to represent the Board. I work at a large firm and when I do research I have to enter a client ID, so I can’t do personal legal research. Be that as it may, the Board attorney, who is allegedly the best in DC for Condo Assn Law has told us that our docs need to be changed because the fines for harassing Board members are capped at $5. Yes, we could sue her for harassment but, as you know, that will be very expensive.
Not having ever dealt with this precise issue before, I am seeking ideas from this thread to see if anyone else dealt with the situation SHORT of litigation. A TRO has been discussed. Great. I also wanted to hear from doctors who may have treated people with BPD or even friends or spouses of people with this disorder, to see if there is anything short of litigation.
But thanks for your $.02 …[/quote]
well if there is one thing a paralegal can do, is research.
Too bad you can’t seem to figure out how to do that.
and… ownership doesn’t exclude this from being a landlord/tenant issue, but that wasn’t why I stated where I work.
EDIT: and you have to know that Findlaw, Shepherds, NOLA and Lexus aren’t only available to law firms.
