Dealing with a Nut-job at Work

Excuse the double post… but to VealChop in regard to the overreacting thing at the top of page 10;

Agreed once again. There are a lot of assumptions here, one of which is that Deb is giving us the facts without indulging a bit. Maybe a little bit. Maybe a lot. You dumbasses all assume that you’re getting the 100% truth from someone on an internet forum that you don’t even know, and then rag on V-Chop for giving a thought. You don’t even suspect that the story, even if totally true, is being slanted for board approval of the poster. I mean come on, who wants to come to Tnation to get criticized when you could instead get everyone on your side? For all you know, she was seeing this guy, broke it off abruptly, and then went to HR when he had a hard time handling it. Now she just wants him out of the workplace. The whole wife and kids thing could be misdirection. Point is, you don’t know. Hence the basis of my advice.

LOL.

Good point… Maybe IF Debra were a newbie '09er with less than ten posts to her name!

But she’s been around these parts for quite a while and has always seemed like one of those people who tells it like it is. I’ve never met her, but I get the impression she is one of the people on here who would seem exactly the same in real life as the way they present themselves here.

Based on that, I’m more than willing to give Debra the benefit of the doubt.

And count me in on Push’s posse! I will be right up in the front row, too, with a Smith & Wesson, a little stub of a cigar clenched between my teeth, and wearing a tattered and dirty poncho.

Don’t have time for drivel - like yours for instance. Maybe you should try posting something of value.

Tai-Bo? Really?
Really. Tai-Bo is a kick-ass martial art. You should really try it.

As for value, I thought my advice to you had a lot of value. The fact that you didn’t find any value in it leaves me pondering the thickness of your skull.

Now, you can continue to knit pick my post, and criticize my advice if you want…
Thank you, I shall.

So you got out your crystal ball and contacted Miss Cleo who divined to you that she didn’t do it as you choose to assume she should have but didn’t.

Okey-dokey…

So whether the facts you predicate your opinion on are right or not doesn’t affect your opinion.

That’s the nice thing about assumptions – they’re independent from facts.

No wonder you didn’t read all the pages…

I’m old, raised in the 50s. We (generally speaking) were taught back then that no one but us is responsible for us. His behavior is way past the point anyone but him is responsible for his fate. Thank goodness I was raised before today’s permissive crap became fashionable.

No thank you, I shan’t.

If you have the nads to post, have the nads to be responded to.

I’ve just been talking about this from her point of view. From his point of view, it’s possible that giving the guy repeated warnings – even ‘severe’ ones – is not in his best interests. It might only reinforce his belief that his behavior is ok, that her ‘no’ doesn’t mean ‘no’. Just like the parent who keeps telling their kid to stop without ever backing it up, who’s just training their kid to ignore them.

The more warnings, the more chance he’ll escalate.

As the great Sage and Wise Man Barney Fife said “nip it, nip it in the bud.”

I’ll put out the thesis that holding him responsible for his behavior from the point he crossed the line (following to/from work) is in his best interest. Best to deal with it before it escalates, both for her and for him.

From what’s been posted it seems she has done a pretty good job so far, and handled it about as well as one can reasonably expect.

And irrelevant

At least a couple other people on here realize that there are two sides to every story, every time. Even when one person THINKS they are telling it like it is, they are merely telling their side, the way their brain perceives it. And that is the BEST case scenario. Usually, they exaggerate just a little bit here, neglect to mention a little there, to exalt themselves and vilify the counter party as much as possible. Sometimes people do it on purpose, and sometimes people do it without even being aware of it. There exists no judge on planet Earth who will disagree with what I’ve just said.

That is why when you hear only one side of any story, it is easy to get over-excited, and start forming posses, but when you hear the other side, you start saying…well, I don’t know… I mean even OJ was found innocent.

And then you have the Nick Danglers and the Russell Crowes of the world, that have apparently no ability to use their own logic, reasoning, and powers of deduction to come to a sane conclusion. That’s why some woman says something on the Internet and their response is…“DUH…LET’S GO KILL’EM.”

Then they come back with other stupidities like…VealChop is an '09er, down with all 09ers. If that really makes you feel better, you just keep running with it. Some side advise for you, don’t try using that argument in the real world, people might catch on that you’re retarded.

To those who have used the argument, well I bet if she was your sister, you’d react differently. Maybe, maybe not. But she ain’t my sister, and that is why I can give sane advice. To those people, let me ask you this. If this GUY was your brother, wouldn’t you want to hear his side of the story before the big lynching?

Deb, if you’re still listening, let us know how it goes with HR, would be nice to hear that they are taking care of things without the need for bloodshed. It is afterall their job to take both sides into account. It’s Monday, they should all be back to work by now, it will be interesting to get their take on it…

So do we know how this ended yet?

You simply have to be dumber than a rock that fell out of the back of the short bus to have misunderstood the humor that was injected into this thread.
Either that, or it just wasn’t funny, much like your last post.
