how come your deadlift is so weak do you not train it often?

you should be dling 280kg+ with that squat

Squat: 810 (1993) Inzer Z-suit, belt, wraps (USPF)
Deadlift: 716 (2005) Singlet, belt, wrist wraps (WABDL)

Now! Not worth a shit! LOL!

Squat - 405 x 3

DL - 460 x 1

Belt only.

well its good to see i’m not the only one who has a higher squat then a deadlift. i get odd looks when i tell my numbers to others

I presume you either have the hands of a midget or a bad back? Or both? Or you squat high as a kite.

Haven’t maxed recently (since november 2008) but approx 550lb raw squat (belt only, IPF depth) and 660lb deadlift (again belt only). This is based off 490lbs for 5 raw squat and 565x5 raw deadlift, all at 210-220lbs, 6’1.

very strong lifts. mind me asking how old you are?

and i agree, these people are doing bullshit squats. 400x3 back squat and only 460x1 dl…450 squat and 440 dl. WTF?

he might be jay cutler’s brother.

A lot of people get around 10% more on DL than SQ if raw.
I think % is the way to look at the two, not a fixed lb amount over Sq

I’m 26, been lifting for 4 years in Oct. My squat has really jumped since going from 198 to 220, (90lbs in a year) but thats probably cos I’m too tall for 198lbs…

LOL, no i’m drug free…

what do most people feel they get out of a belt on the dl? 30lbs or so?

I have no idea as I never deadlift without a belt…too risky.

what’s the risk? i’ve never tried the belt before yet

neither have i. can do 450lb x8 conventional stance no belt no straps and have never had a problem.

was curious as to what the carryover to wearing one was.

In unequipped competition;

Squat 507lbs

Deadlift 600lbs

Belt only:
Squat 150kgs (~330lbs)
Deadlift 182.5kgs (~402lbs)

@75kgs (~165lbs)

As for the question of squat leverages, it can even apply to smaller lifters (just to a lessor extent). I lost 25lbs off my squat when I dropped from 182lbs to 165lbs. Probably because a lot came off my gut so I lost some drive out of the hole.

Hanley - Your dropping to 210lbs? Are you planning on competing at 198lbs or just a light 220lbs?

my squat and deadlift are usually pretty close to one another. my best raw dead is 705 and raw squat is 720. deadlift was done with belt and squat was done with belt and wraps. i feel that i’m built better for the squat than deadlift- very very short arms, legs and average length torso.

ha ha thanks!!

I don’t think I should be deadlifting so much more. I think raw lifters figures are a lot closer than most people think, especially if you’re not naturally predisposed for one particular lift.

But then again, NO, I don’t train it very often. I don’t often pull an more than about 160kg max.
