As mentioned, watch that last one where you completely relaxed to place the bar back down, might be the last rep but you don’t want it to be the last one you do for a few months eh.

You can pull more weight off the rack than from the floor and thus overload the muscles in the stronger part of the normal range of motion.

Visualize pushing with yours heels more instead of pulling the weight up (on top of what everyone else said about straight arms, back etc.). I agree with your dad, definitely could involve your lower body much more.

Keep practicing and you’ll find your “groove”, once you hit that sweet spot you can throw it on cruise control. Nice work, keep it up.
