Ended up buying a test tonight. Should be here next Friday. I bought the ‘letsgetchecked’ one because it tested the most things and had 30% off.

Now that I have kids, I’m not sure if I want low T (so I can B&C) or not. :man_shrugging:t2:

I’m not familiar with what comes in those tests. I know most of the guys in the TRT thread want Test, Free Test, Liver Enzymes, thyroid, blah blah blah. Pretty sure there is a product called Male Hormone Panel that you can order online. Comes with a package - you go to the lab and get a draw, seal it up and mail it back. Results online in a few days. Somewhree ar

There is also the Female Hormone Panel that is less expensive and most guys use that.

I’ve never gotten wacked on the numbers myself. I know you should test thyroid. If you do have low T, figuring out if you can do a restart (secondary) would be good.

You can google it.

I’d also consider establishing care with a primary. Mine happens to be an endocrinologist as well, but he’s kind of a bullshitter. Getting a baseline is a good idea.

Otherwise, with insurance, most clinics will gladly hook you up.

Should have read the whole thread, II’m a loser. You bought the one I was looking at - seemed affordable.

207 is a bitch I can’t ditch. Update photo from yesterday. Continually hoping tomorrow is a new low.

Ouch. That hurt.

But let me know your thoughts, I was eyeing one of those up the other day.

Ha, not saying 30 is old! I just want to know now, before I hit 40 and wonder where I was. I’ll have it on Friday and should have results back the following week.

@flappinit | Tagging you because you asked.

Regarding the kids, neither my wife or I really thought about what it means to take 3 kids as far as the difficultly. We decided we would do it a year ago and took the steps to do it. Then it happened and we just started living. We never stopped to say, ‘wow, this is really fucking hard’. It’s the benefit of being together for 8 years prior to having kids. We have already worked through our selfish nature and work well together. As far as my work schedule and traveling 3 days a week… well, It’s nearly 8pm and I’m at my office, alone. I woke up at 530, packed, worked out, kissed the kids good bye and drove away. I got to office around 1030, talked to employees, put an agenda together and went to meetings from 11:15-5pm. Then stopped at gym for a quick workout on the way back to city where our office is.

I figure I’ll work 16-18 hour days while I travel so I only have to work 10-12 when I’m working at our office in the city I live in.

Tonight’s workout:

Front Squats
1x10x135

BB Split Squats
5x135
2x5x185*

*PR of sorts. I have never done this in a squat rack. I’ve always done split squats in a smith machine. Definitely kicked my balancing ass.

Front Squats
2x5x185
1x10x135

I was kind of all over the place with wether to front squat or split squat first. ha. The pump was real

Leg Ext/Ham Curls
3x15

I checked the scale at the gym and I weighed 212, fully clothed with shoes. Crossing my fingers on Friday, at my home scale, I’ll weigh 205 or less. hahaha. I won’t complain if I never see 206 on the scale.

Like 3 years ago, I had seen Flip, KSman or maybe Yogi mention a website that had a very comprehensive test. I couldn’t find it nor could I be bothered to ask since none of them really post much. ha

Yeah, this is really interesting to me. My wife got pregnant right after I proposed to her, and we moved the marriage up so that we’d be married before she gave birth (I honestly can’t remember why, since I could give two fucks about the implications of having a kid before being married, but we were already engaged, so whatever), so we’ve never had married life to ourselves. It was a real strain and made things difficult for sure, we didn’t have time to prepare for a lot of things, and the second kid was REALLY unexpected (she took a pregnancy test on mothers day, came out of the bathroom crying, and I patted her on the back and went to work), so despite our marriage being very strong now, it was a real struggle at times just to maintain our sanity. I really admire your work ethic, and the work you put in to provide a stable living environment for these kids. Your kids.

If you don’t feel comfortable answering, I’ll understand, but without going into too much detail, what was the nature of their abuse beforehand, and do you worry about any lasting repercussions from said abuse, as in manifestations of violence or other things? We’ve decided to not have any more children of our own, but have talked and said that if we get the itch in a few years, we’d adopt. Just things I worry/think about when adopting a child.

Pretty sure it was Private MD Labs. They had a sale once for $99 and I used them. Many people in Pharma and TRT forums have used and liked them.

The problem with a lab test is that I’ll be very tempted to act upon getting the results. It’s the first step down the rabbit hole.

Our decision was a very conscience one and not a popular one, but we both wanted to have a personal connection without kids, prior to having them. Also, I know ‘no one is ready to have kids’, BUT I wanted to remove the financial and relational challenges from raising kids. It’s hard enough! Why not remove some of those challenges.

Obviously there is a few downsides: we will be old parents, this isn’t the reason for our decision to foster, but it’s harder to conceive when you’re older, and my career is more defined and demanding than it was 5 years ago.

Not sure there is a right answer, just a conscience decision we made based on our priorities. My sister’s goal is to pop out five babies right away. Haha

Ya, that’s it. Oh well, this test will let me know if getting an endo is needed.

What a bullshit saying, haha. Nobody comprehends ALL THE CHALLENGES that kids bring before having them, but that saying puts an 18 year old who got knocked up by their deadbeat boyfriend on par with a 35 year old couple with a house, substantial savings and great health insurance. It’s just not true. We weren’t really ready to have kids, and it made it hell at times. You guys prepared.

Also, my dad had me when he was 50. He’s dead now. My mom had me when she was 38, and she just ran a half marathon last year and I’m about to turn 30. She could live for another 20-25 years easily. I don’t think you’re going to be an ‘old parent’. You could have a kid at 25, and be fat and unhealthy when they’re 20 and you’re 45, or you could have kids at 35, and be athletic and healthy when they’re 20 and you’re 55. Your lifestyle dictates how old you are more than a number, I think.

The first step, for me, down the rabbit hole was having kids. After that, my ability to pro-create is no longer required. If the test says I’m an 80 year old man, I’ll jab my ass with a needle like the best of them.

What!? You’ve got three on the ground and you’re not even 30. They will all graduate high school before you’re 50. That’s young.

I’m 35 and my kids will turn 7 and 4 this year. You’re not old parents.

I’ve never worried about that consequence. I’m afraid of walking down the path of lifelong treatment. I don’t require any prescriptions right now and I’d like to keep it that way.

But if a Dr told me I needed it…

Neglect, trauma and exposure to extreme violence. Possibly more, no one knows is willing to say more.

No signs of violence or sociopath tendencies.

I had a friend who’s parents were retired when he was born. Only child, spoiled as shit. I felt terrible for him when his dad passed while he was a teenager.

Ya. I didn’t say it well. I meant if we had kids naturally at our age (my wife is 9 years older).

I’ve been referred to a doctor here who does the Bio T injections (little pellets injected under the skin in your hip). I am 99% confident that he’d put me on his program if I went and got tested. The only T test I’ve had done was total T and it was in the high 600s or low 700s. The guy who referred me told me that’s low for a 35 year old. That tells me that this doctor would probably put me on his treatment to get my T around 1200 to 1500. If it wasn’t all out of pocket then I might have pursued it.
