Regarding flying vs. driving in to DC:

As it has been stated, cars are kind of useless for the seminar. The metro works wonderfully if you are just bopping about DC. And if you need a lift to/from the airport/hotel, there are many DC T-maggers who could drive you about.

As for driving here, you would have to contend with DC traffic. And believe me, no one wants to do that.

What is that you ask? Why yes, I have been living/driving in this area way too long and travel a lot. grin
Thanks for your advice daven. I think you just convinced me to fly.

Just a bump right quick I’ll be back on this as soon as I can.

Will say the schwag stuff has been coming along with the little time I have been able to devote. More later

Phill

This is great. T-Nation in my back yard. This can’t any better than this. Even though I will most likely be the skinniest kid there I will attend to learn from the masters. This is freakin great. Keep us updated.

If anyone else is heading down from the New England area, I am thinking about trying to get some kind of carpool arrangement cracking. Also trying to convince UConn’s Favorite Son, Eric Cressey, to attend and carpool along as well.
i’m in southern ct baby

Although im not a frequent poster here at T-Nation, nor very impressive with my numbers of physically, i’m glad im at college in DC and very interested in attending.

the post above by ‘gobbla’ was meant to be mine. didnt realize i was logged in as him…strange. anyways, im still excited to attend and learn more of the details.

i live in a college dorm, but if someone needs to be put up for a night, i could easily accomdate someone (our own mini kitchen and bathroom between 3-4 of us depending on the weekend). Just putting that out there.

Since I just attended the Staley seminar here in AZ, I am excited at the possibility of going to DC. I have to comment on the above post though. Its not about your size or your numbers. To para phrase Dan John… its about showing up. If you work hard, if you aspire to learn more about fitness and nutrition and if you feel that you could put that knowledge to good use, this seminar will definitely be for you.

Most of the people on the boards aren’t pro bodybuilders, we’re all everyday people with jobs, families, school, other committments but we find the time to train. Please don’t be embarrassed by your physique or your total pounds lifted a week numbers. Come because you love to lift!

Yeah, look at me! I’m the shortest, but I want to go!

All -

If you haven’t already, chime in on the “DC Seminar” thread I started in the Locker Room.

Basically, we’re trying to get a head count so the person who’s pulling this together can plan and figure out what his budget is. If you know, FOR SURE, that you’ll be going, drop a quick line like “I’ll be there” or something of that nature. Thanks!

Stay strong

Quick question on the metro. I’m driving up from the Shenandoa Valley. Would it be easier to stop at the metro stop in Viena and rail in or should I just drive?? I guess I’m asking how far the proposed venue is from a metro station.

Thanks,

La’

Keep driveing for another 15mins. Stopping and hopping on the metro will complicate things and will take 2-3 times as long.

I’ve told a few people from my gym about this and they are VERY interested. Hopefully we can get some non-T-Nationers into the mix as well.

DD

What are the chances of getting Dave Tate to come out for this?

DD

Red…

Yup keep driving. The weekends really are not that bad for traffic IMO its the workdays that are Crazy.

Devil… Man I would LOVE to have Dave Tate, and really every contributor, writer, etc from T-Nation BUT its a matter of Time and Cost. The more presenters you get the less each can talk. Then there are travel cost, rooming, and by god even paying them a little which I say they have been MORE than cool about. It all adds up.

Plus if we have them all in one go then we couldnt do another one. LOL

OK I’m Back in DC for now and hope to finish the detail on the hotel/venue and will then be able to get that info up as well as cost per. etc…

Thanks for the interest and patience,

Phill

OK guys It is getting VERY close to time to seperate the cream from the crop. I am waiting for the gal to call me with the final cost of the conference room and what type Of deal I can get everyone on rooms.

I opted for a Hotel that cost a bit more BUT has free made to order breakfast all you can eat. and also has a Happy hour that we can all take complete advantage of. It is sounding lkike the cost of the rooms should be reasonaable and the more people I can promiss the better it may get. In short the minimal higher cost of the rooms will be more than covered by the food and beverages we consume.

This is really the last thing that is stopping me from getting a price out here and begining to get the seats locked down.

Also have a Nice amount of Schwag still coming in and all I can say is that a few people will be walking away with some NICE goods. (more on this later)

OK thats my update and shameless little bump on this.

Ltr,
Phill

Totally count me in. If for no other reason than to be “in” on all the witty comments that get tossed around the boards after seminars happen.

See y’all there.

OK all instead of posting the info here at the end I just edited the first post to conatin all the info. LIL easier to find them digging though the thread.

OK I added more Got the ever evolving Schwag list up.

Any questions fire away a PM and I will be adding things to that post as it comes.

Ltr,
Phill

Phill, you rock. I will have a check for you the next time I run into you.

Hell yes my brother lives in DC I am so in on this event.

do we know what the presenters are talking about yet?
