Davemccright's Dangerous Dave’s Diabolical Log for Density and Destruction

some good training going on in here, but what is with the copy paste business, where is the penmanship.

Sorry to disappoint with the lack of pen and paper! I kept forgetting to grab my new notebook, as I had filled up the old one. I’ve just been using my Notes app in the meantime, but my next entry (yesterday’s session) features a return to the pad and paper as I did bring it with me on my trip!

A day behind on logging. Man, Ozzy’s death today hit me like a ton of bricks. Feels almost like losing a family member.

It’s been really fun visiting family and training at my good old gym. Both sessions I’ve had so far have been outstanding! First one was with my cousin and brother, which was very fun! Excited for back and hams today!

Thank you Simo and @Friedrich ! Training has been consistently fantastic and it feels like that’s manifesting on the good ol’ physique and it does feel good getting it back on the written page! I like looking back on my sessions down the road. It’s basically like reading my autobiography.

Got a late start to the day but still got a really good lift in. The pump was fantastic and I was really feeling in the zone. Calves got crazy pumped and vascular at the end too. Calf veins are a new development for me this year that I had never experienced before my contest prep. Definitely at a nice lean Bodyfat to continue progressing with. I feel like the legs have made some quality strides since the show!

Had an extremely late night session last night after my brother and I hung out with my friend all night. But hell, Hulk Hogan had just pasted away and we needed to get an arm pump in his honor regardless!

It truly was one of the best Arm pumps I’ve experienced maybe ever, which is pretty darn nuts! Meeting up with my cousins to hit chest and quads tonight!

I love reading in here. I think you should be nominated for Sunniest Training Log, Dave.

I may have missed it, but is there another competition on the horizon?

I really appreciate that! Training makes my life extra amazing, so it should always be positive! I’m considering another show at the end of the summer/early fall. I have a lot of weddings and travel around that time but that’s the timeframe I’m thinking, otherwise it’ll probably be next summer.

Fantastic lift with my cousins last night! They really weren’t ready for the volume and intensity that these workouts bring and I never scale it back for guests. But I did help them out with form cues and a lot of the biomechanic type stuff I’ve been working on for the last couple of years that have really helped my development. It was a fun mini-family reunion and had the gym to ourselves. Great bonding through the iron! Definitely need to do that again some time!

Such a fantastic weekend! Fixed my mom’s lawnmower on Saturday and took care of her yard work! Then Sunday we went to the lake and had such a wonderful day swimming with the family! Monday, we worked for my grandparents all day on the ladder, sawing branches off of their massive oak tree. Just all day swing back and forth with basically a sickle on a pole then using a chainsaw to cut the massive limbs into smaller portions to be dragged away. We did take a break to chow down on a Golden Corral all-you-can-eat buffet , where I loaded up on steak, pork steak and chicken! We didn’t finish up until midnight. My Apple watch said I burned 1100 calories! But our day wasn’t over, we still had to get our lift in! So here I am, all finished up at 4:45 in the morning. Now, I need to get home and get to sleep for my 16+ hour drive back to Canada tomorrow!

Also here’s a fun comparison of my first lake photo that my mom uploaded of me online when I was 14, not even 2 years into lifting Vs the most recent one she’s taken of me at 29 years old, 17 years into lifting! It’s a marathon!

Back to the gym after arriving back to Canada and first solo workout since mid May. A little sad but the pump made me very happy! Out of curiosity, I measured my arms pre workout and then again post workout: 18” pre, 19” post! 1” Pump from this session, just crazy!! I’m excited to hit some chest and quads tomorrow!

Slightly shorter session than usual today. A bit of a time crunch. Phenomenal session regardless. Got Jay Cutler’s pre workout in from Amazon, looking forward to trying it! I did have a sip and it’s delicious, but I haven’t done a true double scoop before a lift yet to determine how good it is. Everything was feeling so good today. I felt every quad fiber firing on squats and inclines were feeling insanely good, The weight is getting light!! Tomorrow I’ll hit some back, hams and calves. Just as God intended.

Started things off at the Y, then they closed and kicked me out and I finished the session in the garage! Achieved an insane pump, felt beastly! I’m such a fan of pretty much really basic movements. Decline Cable chest Press and chest Supported high cable Row are probably the most exotic things I do. If these moves built the great physiques of the 70s, they can certainly do the same for me!

Another lift at Border City Barbell! This was fantastic! Really a refreshing change of scenery! Really cool to try some different equipment, at least for shoulders. Arms ended up being some of my usual staples. Can’t beat the classics! Apologies for this being another notes app entry. Left my notebook in the car. Back to normal tomorrow for chest and quads!
