Davemccright's Dangerous Dave’s Diabolical Log for Density and Destruction

Got a little crazy today with the training! I was freaking dying during the session but in the 45 minutes since I’ve bounced back really well and am just feeling an unbelievable pump in my legs and chest! 45 minutes of squatting followed by 45 minutes of benching. A Serge Nubret classic! I’ve got a rest day tomorrow to recover up before I hammer Hams and Back on Wednesday.

I have no words for how insane this program looks when it is written out. I remember when I was a lot younger, I would often go to the gym and squat for 1 hour. Moderate weight 10-15 reps per set, 1-2 min rest. This workout would make me sore for days and days. Good on you for being crazy enough to give this ago.

Yes sir, it’s sort of a rite of passage type of thing, in my opinion. Everybody’s gotta do things that are a little nuts at some point. I feel like the longer I’m at this thing, The further the spectrum goes of what I consider to be a crazy thing to do. I’m sure I’m about to be extremely sore!

Fantastic workout at Border City today. No time crunch, got to take my time and we tried out a few different pieces of equipment, including a seal row and hammer strength Pullover! My back was pumped and so wide by the time it was all said and done! Same can be said for my hamstrings! Really cool to use a standing ham curl machine for the first time! Training has been so on the money lately! Just right in the flow!

Shoulders and Arms(and calves) at the Y today. Really really had fun with this one. The veins were popping out like absolute crazy. Yesterday I was the heaviest I’ve been in a while at 195 and this morning I was 185, lighter than I’ve been at any point during prep. Things are going very well and I’m so happy with the way my physique is looking. My self confidence in my body image is perhaps at an all time high, which is extremely motivating. Training has been a blast and I think the fact that I’ve been training with my brother this summer has been so incredible and I’m very grateful for it! Quads and chest tomorrow morning then we head to Niagara to celebrate the 4th!

Happy Independence Day, everyone!

Quads and Chest-honestly the toughest workouts of the week, not that any are particularly easy. 8x12 on squats with 30 second rest breaks is just truly killer! I’ve been using 30 seconds rest pretty much across the board since the show. It’s been brutal, it’s been awesome and the pumps have been next level. I’ve gotten so good at directly targeting my chest with all of my presses, that has also helped really elevate the quality of my sessions. Really excited to see how much I can improve by the next time I hit the stage!

About to hit the road for Niagara! See you Monday!

Had an amazing weekend in Niagara then the beach yesterday where I got super sunburnt, but that’s the price you pay for a good time sometimes! Today’s session was just fantastic. The weekend was a great refresh for me, even though I was incredibly active with a Iot of steps and a lot of running on the beach and throwing a football. It was just the weekend I needed for a fantastic week of training! Back and hamstrings were on the agenda for today! Absolutely smashed it! Unbelievable Back Pump to start things off and then it was my first time ever on a seated Hamstring Curl Machine, which absolutely brutalized me and pumped my hamstrings to the extreme. Finished the hamstrings with 8x12 on Barbell stiff deadlifts, which just felt beyond brutal! Closed the day out with some decline Sit ups to keep the abs laid in like brickwork.

Smashed shoulders and arms this morning! Just got pumped to all hell. 3D arms and delts. I was really feeling like a beast! The delt work on the cable was a nice change of pace that really felt awesome. Every movement was just feeling on point today. Finished things off with a great calf pump and made some homemade pizza for dinner. Delicious. Can of salmon before bed will finish my day off nicely!

A good Pump makes any day better. The sun shines a little brighter, food tastes a little better!

Quads and chest today. Hit the front squats on the Smith after a few sets with the barbell because I was having too hard of a time keeping the rack position without rolling forward and the Smith kept it in position. I think I’ll use Smith Sissy Hacks instead next time, as it’s so much easier to set up. My quads were painfully pumped by the time we moved on to chest. It was a pretty classic chest session, basically a “greatest hits” chest day where I busted out all of the really tired and true movements. Such a fantastic workout! Back and hams tomorrow!

Back and hamstrings got the hammer laid upon them today while listening to Black Sabbath’s “Volume 4”. Really kept things pretty simple. Got another tremendous pump and my hamstrings were absolutely brutalized! The technogym Pulldown is very similar to a behind the neck pulldown, which I quite like. Also brought back the high cable row for the first time in a while then finished off back with a 90 second dead hang.

Very fast paced Shoulder and Arm session today. Really can’t beat an arm day any day of the week and especially not on a Saturday! The pump was absolutely severe! No grandiose write up today, just a fun session with gnarly pump, nothing more to it!
