I might be too white for it Show up properly haha
Ha ha wasn’t expecting that. Touché
Looking good mate.
A little T-Transformation preview I guess lol although I’m definitely not winning anything other than maybe the “advanced lifter that has maybe gained a pound or two of muscle at most award” that I just created
This is exactly how it’s done. A lbs or 2 at a time. You are doing amazing mate just keep grinding away.
I really appreciate that man! And that’s absolutely a big win in my book at this point. Just thankful for the ability to continue to progress forward!
If there were an award for “most impressive transformation for however long @barley1 has been on here,” I’m pretty sure you’d be the front runner.
I appreciate that! I hope that my journey been helpful in helping others learn from my successes and mistakes!
Absolute unit.
Behind on updating my log because I hit a deer last night and I’ve been distracted with making sure I get a replacement headlight assembly to safely drive back to Canada. I was also able to spoon the front quarter panel enough to open and close my passenger door.
Anyway, The workout on the night of the deer hit was Lower Load/Upper Pump abs mentally I just wasn’t all there for the lift, but I was happy to get it in regardless. The lift today (Upper Load/Lower Pump) was way better. I was focused and strong! I was also powered by a burger with a pound of beef patties from Sid’s Diner in El Reno! It’ll be back to the garage gym after this, but that’s okay. I’m ready to continue hitting it hard!
Sucks to hear about the car, glad you are ok mate.
Liar!
Thank you, I am too. Definitely could’ve been worse. I was fortunate.
Nobody’s perfect!
looking big . . impressive
Back in the great white north! First workout since making it back in town late on Monday after dealing with some annoyance at the border about needing to import my car/get Ontario plates… anyway, I was thrilled to get back to it and actually am upping the ante to Turbo, at least for this week. I have one lift left this week so I wanted to make sure everything got hit twice. This decision will throttle me later I’m sure lol
Hip Belt squat muscle round was brutally hard and probably just a hair too heavy as I was struggling to find my balance until late in the cluster set and my reps were more discontinuous than they should’ve been. Db leg curls were a fun addition for muscle rounds. This is becoming one of my favorite movements. Did Hex Curls for biceps which is another new favorite of mine (Scooby Doo fans might get the Hex Girls song stuck in their head after reading that). Scoop Flyes and Overhead Flyes are absolutely two of my current favorites for pecs and delts respectively.

Thanks for that. Im going to put a spell on you
Last workout of the week and good Lord did we finish strong! Session took about an hour today. Doing Turbo for the two sessions this week was the right call but man was it a punishing one! The kickstand squats for muscle rounds was so incredibly diabolical. For those who aren’t aware, unilateral muscle rounds are performed as 4 reps on one side and then 4 reps for the other with no breaks in between. You’re basically resting one leg while the other works. This equates to roughly 48 reps at a very high Intensity with no breaks and a lot of oxygen debt! Easily the worst idea I’ve had in regards to leg training in a while, in a good way but man it was so so very brutally hard.
I’m totally fried. I can safely say that I gave all that I had to give these last two workouts. Time to rest and grow this weekend and hit things hard again on Monday.
Split the normal workout into two today. Had a buddy come lift with me. He’s getting back into lifting. Tough news for him was that I hit FT Upper Body Pump Day at Volume Tier III! The garage was as hot and humid as it’s been all year today. The lift was really good though. Hit our supersets, taught him Reverse 21s and 5s into the hole… He’s probably going to be very sore tomorrow. I know I will be. Post workout cereal today is Frosted Flakes. Cereal gains nation
Today was one punishing as hell Workout. First Lower load day at Volume Tier III. Unfortunately for me(but fortunately for my muscles), this is my HARDEST and HEAVIEST leg day of my ABC rotation(Today was B)! Used straps to help hold the front rack position for front squats. Actually really really helped, although the gnurling in the bar was tearing into my right delt. I guess that’s what I get for going sleeveless on front squat day. Managed to progress on every movement and felt a good bit stronger than last time too.
Calf Raises were done with my Super Squat belt, holding a 100 lb dumbbell and a 45 lb plate. A little awkward and heavy as hell on my waist but it was sufficient for getting the job done today, which is what this is all really about.
@TrainForPain and @jskrabac this is an example of the “Zig-Zag” approach for the loading sets for lower body. As you can see(hopefully), I did one set of front squat just shy of failure (probably about 1 RIR), a set of barbell hack squats to failure, another set of front squats (this one was probably 2 RIR), a set of Stiff Legged Deadlifts to failure, then finished with a set of Front Squats with 0 RIR.
This week I actually separated the Upper Pump and Lower Load workouts into two because I was trying to fit workouts in both yesterday and today so I could train with my buddy yesterday and my father-in-law today.
I love reading your workouts and seeing the old school journal entries. I honestly most of the time have no idea what most it means and it seems really complicated, but the sense I always get is of proper hard work and that’s the bit I like the most.
