I was feeling some major ass and hamstring soreness today from this 3 sets of Stiff legs to failure haha! Ruined me!

Heavy arm and Medium-light day for lower body as I was still dealing with some extreme soreness, especially in my hamstrings. Honestly shocked with how many reps I was getting on somersault squats and went ahead and hit 5 sets since they were feeling great. JM press was feeling really great and got to leave the gym with an insane arm pump, which is always pretty baller.

What’s your current rest periods as that’s quite a few quick workouts.

Rest is for the weak. @davemccright laughs at your rest :joy:

@simo74 is right, my rest periods are fairly short. I just go when my breath is back to normal or close to it, which for most exercises is probably about 45 seconds- a minute and probably closer to 2-3 minutes on squats on my working sets.

I was really feeling incredible today. Just felt strong across the board. Upper body felt 100% recovered going into this workout, so I knew I’d be able to push things a bit. Rep number 4 on slight decline press was an extremely hard rep but I knew I could I get one more if I summoned every last bit of strength I had and I was right! I was flying on pull ups too.

This program has been exactly what I needed. I’m recovering well and I’m getting stronger and stronger. I also just love instinctive, auto-regulative training, especially operating within the programming parameters that Phil has created.

Really pushed things to the limit today! Finished each set of squats at the bottom, having to let the weight drop to the safeties after a failed rep. Trying to keep myself honest and not take breaths at the top of the squat and rest. Just keep pumping those reps. Good googly moogly-that took it out of me! Slightly overshot my weight on the first set of curls. No problems though, The last two sets were perfect. Leg curls felt brutal.

Today was just really a day where I had been busy and my mind lacked the killer instinct I normally have on squat and leg Curl day but that did not stop me from rising to the occasion and completely redlining my sets. Body composition continues to improve. Blueberries seem to work magic on me!

It’s been very different getting accustomed to that and an honestly brutally hard adjustment. Great for keeping tension on the muscle and minimizing fatigue, not the best for performance or having eye popping numbers.

yer but what about those shirt popping pumps?

Yes same here! Honestly probably for the best I never tried any of the magazine routines. I followed Scooby1961 on YouTube as a teenager and made awesome progress on for years with his “Teen Workout Plan” but plateaued for a few years before I eventually really learned Progressive overload and training to failure thanks to Mike Mentzer in 2020, which eventually led me to Ellington Darden, which led me here, which has led me to several different training personalities and programming styles. I hold Scott Stevenson’s Fortitude Training in extremely high esteem because I basically resurrected my gains on that program! Thibs had a seminar where he said he basically thought that was the perfect program for a natural lifter and from personal experience, I have to agree!

Pretty fatigued today. Really same problem as yesterday. Just a little low on energy, feeling slightly run down and waking from sleep earlier than I’d like to be the last two days. Still feel like I’m having great workouts, just a bit less energized. I have been absolutely getting after it the past month or so. My first step is going to be adding in an extra meal I could very well be underfed at the moment with the big increase in frequency. This is all a big science experiment and playing with the right variables to find your own gainz equation.

Returning to Fortitude Training will be my next step with my training. I touched on it last night, but that’s the best and most result producing program I’ve ever ran and I think I can get even more out of it now (not necessarily expecting another lean 14 pounds) with my added experience. Honestly so exciting! It gives me the fun and variety of auto-regulation but also gives me a structure to operate within which is very good for me. Just like I had with Mountain Dog training (the structure is Pre-Pump activation, Explosive heavy movement, max pump movement, train from a stretched position).

Dan John always says ‘add more protein’. LOL

Enjoying 2 chicken breasts and 1/4 of a pineapple as a post workout meal as we speak! More protein is always the correct answer
