Had a whole lot of fun with today’s chest workout. Took me a little bit to figure out how to set up the reverse bands properly, as well as how to get the weights on and off without catapulting the barbell into space lol
Reverse bands rule! I did 315 for 5 before I did the “working sets” of 295 for 5x5. The 315 felt good, but there’s no way I could’ve done 4 more sets with it. Also using Fat Gripz on Tricep Pushdowns was a stroke of genius and I can’t believe I haven’t done that before! This workout did take about an hour and 15 minutes simply because it took me so long to figure out the reverse banding technology. I expect it to be under an hour next time.
I am so glad I did my press day before looking at yours. Geez.
Glad you’re liking it! I was crippled sore after playing ball, but intend to go hit my legs tonight so I’m moving again in time for Sunday’s game. I like having that “deadline” to kind of force me to take my recovery seriously.
My chest is trashed after all of that benching yesterday. BRUTAL! Hopefully the soreness clears up in time for DE Bench day on Saturday. I will definitely need to focus on some top notch recovery too! Grappling was postponed tonight so that’ll help.
First back day of Program X and it was HEAVY! And great! Haven’t done weighted chins in a while, but it felt great to really push myself on them again! Wore my new John Meadows Prep Mode Thanos shirt from Iron Rebel during today’s lift, so that definitely gave me some extra power!
After a really long day of moving, I got to sleep for a few hours before dropping my wife off at work and got to squeeze this workout in. If it wasn’t now, then I may not really get a chance today. About to head back to bed for a few more hours of sleep before another long day of moving.
Well today’s workout was basically the same story as yesterday, except I slept better today! Got an awesome arm pump, which is always a perfect start to a day! Well back to bed for a bit!
Haha thanks dude! Pull-ups have always been my strongest exercise for some reason. Ever since I got my Iron Gym Pull up Bar in 2011, I’ve just always loved them and we definitely spammed them in wrestling. I trained to be the strongest chinner on our team… I’m competitive!
Planned on legs today, but was as short on time and my brother-in-law was in there on the bench already so jumped back to speed Bench and shoulders. Felt fresh and explosive today. Got a big Cage Press PR with 190 which matches my all time best Overhead Press single! Pretty good considering this exercise is a little harder and I’m 15 pounds lighter than when I hit it! Just going to keep pushing it! Hopefully I can hit 195 next week!
This leg day was definitely a huge step up in intensity from last weeks! The weight and rep jumps were brutal!! The squats were actually the easiest part! I feel like next week is about to crank it up and rip the knob off! No complaints though, I LOVE it when a program kicks my butt!
Today’s Brutal barrage beyond blatantly bewildered and ballooned my beloved back into a barbarically big barn-door behemoth! I have been feeling very tired and lethargic today. Didn’t sleep the best last night. My wife loves sleeping with a huge comforter blanket but it’s just too hot for that and it’s messing up my sleep quality a bit. Regardless, I was excited to get this session knocked out! My phone was almost dead so I didn’t listen to any music during the session and sadly, it died before I could take a picture of my workout. So I’m just going to type it up for you here, which is probably preferable to most people, but I find it to be a pain in the butt.
Aug 25th-Back-Program X Week 2
Meadows Row(90 sec rest periods) 115 4x8 One Arm Barbell Row 125 4x8 Dumbbell Pullover 40s 2x12(I’ve been doing these with 2 dumbbells for the last several months) Weighted Close Grip Chins 20lb vest 3x failure: 21,13,10+65 sec hang Dumbbell Shrugs(2 sec hold at top) 100s 2x14 Barbell RDL 275 4x5
Started my week off right with an arm day! It’s the last workout from week 2 and I’m back to legs tomorrow, which should be appropriately brutal. I’m definitely enjoying the added arm day and lower overall frequency, especially on legs. I feel like I’m really getting 100% recovered between sessions! Food has been getting cranked up a bit the last few days. Vital piece of the equation there, but I’ve definitely been enjoying the extra ab definition and increased vascularity! Really wanting to restock on lemon drop Surge. Easily my favorite supplement I’ve ever taken. The taste, the recovery… It’s just so perfect. My wife is working extra days this week, so that means an increase in workout frequency for be, which also means I’ll need to uptick the food even more. No problems there!
