Thanks! That bending alone looks like a godsend. Every time I tried the more straight leg, it felt like my hip was going to rip out of its socket
I was fortunate that in John’s tutorial it was with a bent leg, so that’s all I’ve known!
Got a couple of new training sessions to log here, Push from Friday, Pull from Saturday! Honestly shocked at how well the lifts are progressing in the gym! Did not expect this, especially being 12+ pounds down already. I feel like form and execution is even improving on a lot of these lifts at the same time! Truly blessed to be doing this and seeing good results. Db inclines are really climbing, rows are really climbing and even curls are progressing surprisingly fast. Just need to keep working and dialing in nutrition!
Also had to share this photo I took, because the Gym lighting had me looking crazier than I think I’ve ever seen myself!
Your father wouldn’t happen to be a certain Casey Viator, would he? There’s definitely a resemblance! ![]()
That is such an extremely high compliment i can’t even tell you!!
He is putting on “slabs of muscle”. A year ago he reminded me of Steve Reeves. Now, Casey Viator works.
I sure am trying to get his granite like conditioning with huge arms!
Already starting to fall behind on logging again!
Yesterday was legs, so happy with how squats are progressing even in this calorie deficit. I’m just going to keep pushing it! Eccentric tempo is nice and really slow. This was such an intense leg day, I started to get a migraine with aura after adductors during leg extensions. I just noticed mid set that there wavy lines and I couldn’t focus or see very much out of my left eye. It sucked really bad, but I finished the workout. If I’m going to suffer with it, I might as well finish getting my quad and calf gains!
Push day was this morning and this one was really fun too! Dips were feeling even better than last week, really everything was. Push day is so awesome if just for getting to see your chest shoulders and triceps get so pumped and striated! Excited to Hit Pull tomorrow morning!!
Had a really nice pull session yesterday where all of my weights seemed to be climbing almost effortlessly. Really trying to savor this as I know it will be tricky as I get extremely lean. But I like the exercises I have in place. Taking a much-needed rest day today. I’m So sore!
Hope everyone had a Happy Easter! Even after some bigger meals this weekend (everything was still weighed and tracked, even at Easter dinner)I hit a new low Morning weight the last two days(181.8 yesterday and 181.6 today)!
Quick update on my last 3 sessions here. Push session I got to hit with the fellas, got to push all of the numbers up a bit. Pull and legs were both hot solo but still really managed to progress everything. Just incredibly strong sessions. My quads were so smoked after the pendulums that it made the leg press incredibly hard to hit afterwards. The pump was just ridiculous. Definitely enjoyed taking Monday as a rest day. I am so sore across my entire body! Really glad progress has been moving so steadily even as weight has come down so much!
We’re locked right back in after a rest day! Numbers pretty much steadily climbing across the board. I’m getting my hamstrings extra well on RDLs right now. Keeping that weight more forward. Also started with T-Bars instead of Pulldowns yesterday and that was a pretty brutal order of operations but the Pulldown was taken so I had to improvise. May need a gym pin soon for those one arm cable rows because I’ve got the whole stack plus 5 pounds right now! Dips are climbing crazy well, but also I’m getting lighter haha
Amazing last three lifts. Still trying to really perfect and dial in my lifts across the board. I feel good about my form but I’m always interested in perfecting it to really maximize tension on the muscle. There’s always room for improvement. Everything has been feeling good though even as my weight is coming down and all the Bodyfat is getting stripped off. Excited as hell to hit a push session tonight!
Physique Update:
Looking very good! How far out are you now?
Thank you Man!! 9 weeks out!
Look at them lats and biceps!! Have you measured them yet?
I was thinking this too, I always think that about the biceps but in this pic the lats are very prominent and it looks like he has added some width.
Awesome development, Dave! Quite brilliant, actually.
Question: Are you your own coach or have you any assistance? I thought Larry Scott had left us a long time ago?
Thank you guys! My lat training has felt extraordinarily productive in the last few months. And in terms of measurements, I have not measured since last summer, so I’ll need to check soon and get back to you!
And to answer your question, @pettersson , I am 100% self-coached. I feel like I learned so many lessons from last year’s prep and competition that I’m implementing now. I also have a better understanding of conditioning standards and stage presentation.
