Davemccright's Dangerous Dave’s Diabolical Log for Density and Destruction

Back from visiting my dad and back to Canada. Got an upper Body dropset lift in on his Tonal machine on Saturday. I had never used one before but it was really cool! The variable resistance was really neat! After that, I took an unheard of 3 days off. Basically two travel days and heartbroken Monday Night Football watch. I was back to it today, made it to the Y about 40 minutes before close, so I had to make this workout a quickie! It felt amazing though. The quad pump was tremendous and it felt good to blow the pecs back up like balloons! Also, for my birthday, my mom got me an autographed copy of Lou Ferrigno’s book! I’d like to try his Hercules training Routine some time!

I typed this all up and realized that it didn’t post, so I will also add tonight’s back and hamstring workout! Another one that I busted out on a time restricted window due to having to do it at the end of the day due to a wedding. Again, another fantastic session. Diamonds are made under pressure.

Yeah typically 3 on, 1 off. If I really feel like I need more rest I take it. I think being in tune with your body and baking adjustments in real time as needed is super crucial. I missed 3 days in a row after Saturday and I got back on track yesterday after having to deal with travel. You may adjust your volume and frequency to hit your growth/recovery Sweet spot!

Thank you brother! Just need to keep trying to mutate haha

Thanks for the reply man, appreciate it! My body is definitely adjusting to the different training stimulus and higher volumes as I was always doing lower rep work with higher weights.

Just saw you did somersault squats and had to look it up, have definitely seen these around social media will need to try them out!

The Joe Daniels kettlebell version is my favorite! And yeah it definitely takes some time to get adapted to it. I basically worked up to it from Mountain Dog style training, to Arnold style Training and then Serge was like the final boss of Volume haha

Another huge day of snow and more shoveling but I had more time for my lift yesterday! I got to use a HBCD packet for the first time in a while and it helped give me such a next level Crazy pump! Everything else was about the same as usual, but the pump was definitely elevated a notch!!

Today was a garage session and, in my view, the perfect day to try out one of the Lou Ferrigno Hercules sessions. When he was in Italy to film Hercules in 1982, he only has access to a barbell, a bench and some dumbbells and he achieved potentially his best shape ever. He looked truly insane for that role.

This is very much in line with how I’ve already been training, in terms of volume, but makes greater usage of supersets(as denoted by the brackets) than what I’ve been doing. Really really loved this workout, it was super fun and the easily the HARDEST workout I’ve done in quite some time! I’m telling you, this was an extraordinarily hard session, especially by the time it was all said and done. The pump was just next level nuts! I truly had a hard time walking out of the garage after this one. And to think, this was originally planned as a rest day!

This was 100% the best post ever. It covered all the happy-making bases.

I need to get changed now, and experience the joy for myself. (Seriously.)

How many times did you say “Arnold! Arnold! Arnold!” ?

I love to hear that! Thank you! I was so happy with that session, it was one where I couldn’t wait to get home and type about it! I’m so glad that comes through for you as you read it! I feel like it added some juice to my usual sessions. The fact that it’s basically my chest/quad and back/ham day put together was almost unthinkable haha. Sometimes reading a new training book, or training article just gives you some new twists to your training that can light your fire a little brighter. This resonated with me because it was similar to what I was doing with training Volume and was even a little crazier due to the supersets. Sometimes my brain pulls a Michael Keaton Batman in challenging my body and says “You wanna get nuts? Let’s get nuts!”

Now these sessions are going to be a go-to part of my repertoire. I’m going to do them for the next two weeks Full time and then strategically plug them into my regular training schedule intermittently afterwards.

I was thinking it every rep of every set, but just saved it for some of my hardest sets haha

Today was day 2 of the Hercules training program. Today was the second main day. There’s also a once a week lower body and ab giant set day that I’ll hit later this week. Very much looking forward to that one! I already know tomorrow’s session will be hell and I’m ready for it!

It was 18 degrees out today, snow up to my knee (although that’s been the case for several days) which is pretty brutal for a garage session, even with a space heater. The barbells and dumbbells were so freaking cold at the start of the session! The opening two supersets just absolutely cooked my delts. They were on fire and pumped, hell of a way to get myself warm.

The arm work was incredible, I wish I had a bit more time out there because I ran out of time before I had to do a call with a client before I had a chance to do the forearm work. You’ll see that soon, but that’s reverse curls and wrist curls. Definitely getting Rocky IV vibes from my training lately, which I feel Like is increasing the intensity and motivation!

Did this session at the Y today. Felt every bit as good and hard as the last one did. I’m raining so hard right now with the supersets, it’s reminding me a lot of contest prep from last summer and Some of those crazy sessions I put myself through. I think The extra leg and ab work will really be good!

My muscles were honestly in pain after the last pull up/t-Bar row set. I was so thankful that the upper body work was over after that.

The log?! Where’s the notebook? Are you modern now?

Or were your hands too cold to hold the pen?

These Hercules sessions look just as the name suggests!!
I still can’t get through all of the supersets I planned in recent sessions, truly inspiring man! Especially the pull ups for me!
Keep killing it!!

No modernizing going on here! I just left my notebook in my in-law’s garage so I just wrote the Session down on my notes app afterwards so I could share it with you guys sooner!

I’m sure I will be thinking the same thing some day! Thank you! I just need To keep building momentum!
