Went back to an old reliable today for Quads and Chest!! 20 sets of 20 with sissy hack squats and bench! Brutally tough! The pump was just stupid! So much blood in my quads, they looked swollen! Chest then received the same treatment! You have to do more than survive, you have to THRIVE!
Got a little too busy to log my session here yesterday, but it was a fantastic one! Really connected with every movement really really well! I’m excited about how much progress I can make on the back side of my body before I compete again. Continuing to push back and hamstrings harder than ever is going to be crucial!
Another great workout yesterday. Shoulders and arms once more! Got a really nice, big juicy pump in before mowing the lawn and then crushing 21 lemon pepper chicken wings! 21 wing salute! So it was a really good day. Today should also be a really good day but it’ll be very busy. Workout will be an AM session since my afternoon and evening will be just loaded up with client calls. (DJ Lethal)Bring it on! Also I forgot to correct the record that I actually did Barbell curls (65 pounds) rather than cable curl, for those keeping score at home.
Double log post today because I was slacking on logging yesterday’s workout. Today’s workout was at Border City! Went crazy on all the machines as well as the Seal Row! Yesterday’s quad and chest session was really killer! Quads were still pretty sore from all of the sissy squats the other day. Chest was really the same chest day that I made use of during prep. Getting to use the Pulldown Machine was fantastic! I really love getting to use it any chance I get! The Atlantis Hamstring Curl is so much nicer than the Technogym one I’m used to at the YMCA thanks to the addition of a thigh pad!
Thank you man and I definitely do! The weather has been pretty nice lately too. I’ve been letting my summer tan fade away and turning pale again, sadly.
I appreciate you brother! Trying to catch up with your level of year-round conditioning !
Thank you sir! Just trying to continue moving forward every day!
Amazing Arm day!! The vascularity was really going crazy! It felt cool doing Dumbbell Press again. After the first set or two I thought “oh man this is too light” And by the last set I’m hitting absolute failure, not even able to lock it out! Just shows you how humbling this style of training is. You can’t let ego pick the weights for you because it really isn’t about set 1, it’s about still being able to maintain perfect form when you’re fatigued and it’s set 6 or 8 and you’re dying! I just love the mental side of the game!
I just like l love good old fashioned hard work and just getting after it every time I’m in the gym! I’ve gotten to where I try to fill an hour with as much work and as little rest as possible
Sorry I’m just now catching up.
I saw the new avatar and realized you did the show - huge congrats! That’s no small feat.
I agree with the others - you look incredible in your recent pic. You’re maybe just as lean as show day and big and full. Really well done.
Thank you Emily! That really means a lot to me!! I certainly am happy that you find it so positive! Makes me feel like I’m doing something right!
Thank you so much brother!! It really was such an incredible experience! I didn’t get quite lean enough and I realized that I can pretty easily hold the leanness I had from the show and if I just walk around leaner, I’ll be show-ready a whole lot quicker in the future! The longer I track my meals, The better I feel I’ve gotten at getting a ton of protein in without going crazy on calories.
Fat loss is a lot faster than muscle gain but it’s still too slow for my taste, so my secret is just to keep the fat off in the first place. No post show rebounds!
sounds a lot like advice that @RT_Nomad often gives. I always remember Lee Haney back in the day staying pretty lean between shows also, so you are in good company.
