Dani's Rebel Log

Thankyou for making me laugh this morning. I really needed that.

If it is true that most men “decide” who they are when they are four, why don’t I own a chocolate factory?

I like playing sports more than watching them. I enjoy watching some sports, to be sure, but if your team is literally your identity then your personality might need more work. Go Local Team!

This is the coolest and makes the most sense. Also, watching a sport you play seems normal too.

But being an invested spectator who worries about winners and losers, for a thing you don’t participate in, will always be bonkers. But that’s just my perspective, and it’s pretty damn trendy to be a sports fan so I’m the weird one. (And everyone here who agrees… we’re all the weirdos.)

There’s nothing wrong with liking a team and watching its games. If no tattoos are involved.

But who are these “fantasy league” people who spend hours and hours studying and recruiting imaginary teams and laboriously compiling their statistics… to live their ultimate dream… of becoming a mere administrator? I can better understand pretending to be Shaq or Messi or Gretzky, say, though most outgrow these things.

Nope nothing wrong with it. Just can’t relate.

HA! What? I’m not a tattoo person but somehow missed the connection here.

I’ve heard that sports get even more entertaining when you do the fantasy stuff. Not sure how all that works but it seems believable.

Attention @QuadQueen, the book was amazing. There was really only one decent naked part though. Well, two, but the first one was just meh. The end of the book had a huge twist. Fantastic character development as well. Definitely worth the read.

Got any recommendations? I need some fiction.

Consider it gotten. I am going to read this one SUPER soon. I need to work through my current stack and it’ll be next up! Thanks for screening it for me!

A couple I read recently and really liked are The Perfect Couple by Ruth Ware and My Husband’s Wife by Anya Mora were both great thrillers. If you want a chick-lit rec check out Just Like Summer by Abby Jimenez. And one that’s a wild combo of a lot of things and super fun is “The Empress of Cooke County” by Elizabeth Bass Parman. I LOVE that you read what I do. lol

The second one is BETTER, at least it was in my opinion. Highly recommend!!

Well now I have to get on this ASAP.

We just finished watching it on Netflix! And by watch, I mean binged in one weekend.

Thank you so much; I’ll add them to my kindle.

Anytime! And I love that you have a stack!!

HAHA we do have a return policy. But if you don’t end up massive and shredded in one day, it could just be a you thing. :winking_face_with_tongue:

I’ll give it 3 days. I’m reasonable. thinking of just mixing it with Surge actually

I’ve never done that before, so let me know how it goes. Since you haven’t been using MAG-10, I’d still be curious to see how you like it the normal way, but you could be onto something.

I could see using MAG-10 during a diet phase too because it does blunt my appetite. That was a perk I wasn’t expecting.

Given similar ingredients except the hydrolyzed casein… should be good pre / during training as well. Depends on how big the scoop is

When I was in university, one of my roommates threw a brick at our TV because his beloved Philadelphia Eagles lost a playoff game. A nice guy, this was out of character, but yeesh.

I enjoy watching sports, but generally prefer to discuss other things. A tattoo is a sign of commitment, and you can be too committed to a team, to the point maybe you should be. Playing sports is better.

I was listening to comedy radio tonight. A guy was talking about how his son preferred superheroes to sports, to the extent he preferred to wear a cape around the house. The comedian coached his little league team, and his son wanted to wear his cape to the baseball game, arguing it would make him run faster.

So in a weak moment, he said yes. Next week, half his team brought capes to the game. The teams they played wanted to wear capes too, and some of the parents gave him a hard time. In general, fathers are thought it ridiculous and asked him what the hell did he think he was doing? And mothers thought it was wonderful he would be so considerate and respectful about these handicapped kids…

I’ve said it many times before:
Win or lose, Eagles fans are going to riot.

You will not be sorry!!! SO GOOD!!

Okay, so yeah, I got the title of the book wrong. It’s One Perfect Couple by Ruth Ware. I am totally with you on The Perfect Couple though. That one is by Elin Hilderbrand, I read it a few years ago and then binged the show too - so good! Both in book and limited-series form. Not as good as Big Little Lies but darn close!

I am always listening to an audiobook and usually have a book with pages going too. I’m addicted! lol

Ah, gotcha. I wasn’t connecting the dots. :joy:

Ha! Pretty funny bit.

The rioting thing is fascinating. I’ve mentioned the energy of crowds before, which you can see at concerts and in mobs. But I think people lose their ability to critically think when they let emotion take over and go along with the crowd. It almost seems like a hive mind.

I haven’t watched this documentary but the trailer is enough.

Easy to do! All these thrillers have similar titles. Frida McFadden even came out with a satirical novella called, The Widow’s Husband’s Secret Lie.

Oh, and The Woman In The House Across The Street From The Girl In The Window has to be one of the funniest things on Netflix.

I’m so excited about all the recommendations you’ve given me!

Absolutely love that. I had to create a system in order to be consistent, otherwise my tiny attention span won’t behave. So this is what’s working for me right now:

Non-fiction on audio: chores, driving, showers

Fiction on Kindle: bedtime reading

The Bible as a physical book with pages: early morning

Luteal phase is in full swing this morning, so I did NOT want to go to the gym. But I’m also not going to let my husband get a workout by himself and make me feel lazy. So I chose something for upper body, something for lower body, and some ab work.

Weirdest Workout of the Month

Superset
Hip Thrust: 3 x 15, 12, 10
Dip: 3 x 10

Abs

I’m seeing some separation (during luteal phase!) in the rectus abdominis, which is saying a lot for someone who has a hard time building abbies. Kind of exciting. Maybe when I’m not hormonal I’ll do a quickie vid on some of the things I do for abs. It seems to be working.

Dad jokes are fun. Delivery is everything though.

I love that memes have evolved to the point that scabs have emotions and can be depicted by chihuahuas.

It was also a scientific experiment.
