Maybe, maybe not. My dad has looked like that for the past 50 years and now at 80 he seems to be doing just fine.

Translation: We like being the one in control of your relationship. Fuck that shit. I damn sure want a chick that wants a partner and an adventure together. Who wants to sacrifice some of her desires for mine because she knows I’m going to do the same for her just because I want her to be happy.
I only talked with one girl that in my view legitimately had a thing for ‘dad bod’ and it was basically that she wanted to go out and be able to drink beer and eat hamburgers and pizza and she wanted someone who would do that with her without worrying about their diet all the time. Odd, possibly, but sure ok–essentially it came down to her wanting a partner in crime and not one who was always worried about meal schedules, cardio, and other stuff. She was one of the most non-manipulative people I know and I love her…she was a nerd, she wanted a nerd, and that’s cool.
So it’s possible for a person every once in a while…but I don’t buy this new thing being a legitimate craze beyond people being told they should want it.
Doesn’t matter anyway, more cool chicks who want to train with me, weeds out the ones who will eventually go to seed or try to manipulate me for wanting to be in the gym ![]()
Loling so hard at the idea of an attractive woman staring at a dadbod on the beach with something other than complete apathy. Average women who don’t exercise might find this attractive, but I’m not attracted to them anyway.
Left is 25 and dadbod, right is 30 and decently lean. I’ll let you guess which one has gotten me more attention from women…

Tbh, pic on the left is nom, but on the right is nomnomnom. =D
Just saying I don’t consider the first pic a true dad bod.

you look good, man. Maybe if you’re not up to anything later we could grab a coffee or something?

I think it’s the flaming hair from your avi that draws the women in.

I think I’ll just go ahead and call bullshit on this being a trend at all. This is one chick writing for an online mag telling other women what they’re supposed to like this year - and obviously, a few gullible ones will fall for it. Probably the same ones who will start wearing bell bottoms again in a few years because some one tells them it’s the new cool.
Most women I know prefer a man who is reasonably fit. That means enough muscle to be useful for manual labour, self defense and weekend sports and sufficiently lean to not have a gut. Neither looking like the Hulk nor having veins on your abs will look natural or attractive to them. (I’m not knocking mass monsters or ripped dudes here)

I agree.
My view of the “dad bod” is based on the dads I know personally, and they all seem to fit the description Brickhead has so aptly put into words previously.

Even in regular name brand levis, in the 505’s relaxed fit I just returned a pair last week the misses bought me, they were 32x30. I can get them up and buttoned and still have a little room in the waist, but the ass and legs were way too tight. I had to exchange them for 33’s. Even the 33’s are a little snug for my liking in the croth and thigh. I have to wear a belt with these, or I get the bacon roll look in the back and my shirts do not stay tucked in.
It’s possible you may have wider hips then me,
Bullpup,
I’m of similar proportions. My best bet has been getting Lucky jeans at TJ Maxx, Marshall’s, Steinmart, etc in a 34x32 and getting them tailored. The jeans cost ~$25 at those places, typically, plus $10-15 for the alteration and I’ve got a nice pair of jeans that fit for $40.
I’m not quite 5’2" and Bullpup outweighs me by 90-95 lbs. Wow. Isn’t that amazing?

My wife is 5-2, I’ve got 105 pounds on her.

505 isn’t a relaxed fit. You are looking for a 559 or 569 (relaxed and loose respectively). Try on enough different pairs and eventually one of them will fit. Levis cuts are very inconsistent but it works because if you try on enough you will eventually find the right pair of jeans.

And of course your bone structure/ density from lifting would matter. On second thought, the female version of you is maybe Buckeye Girl who used to post here. As I recall, she was 5’3" and 140 in her off season and when Powerlifting. Then she won a competition in the Physique class at something like 118, if I remember correctly. Like you, you’d never think a woman could look lean at 5’3" 140 but she looks very fit and athletic and has a small waist at that weight. I was always impressed with how much muscle she was carrying on such a small frame.
