Cutting & Pre-Bed Meal

I’ve been slowly cutting (nothing crazy) and had a question about my pre-bed meal.

I understand the importance of casein protein before bed, etc. My usual pre-bed meal is a tablespoon or two of peanut butter and 1/2 cup cottage cheese, and sometimes (if i’m hungry) i’ll add a scooop of whey. Is this too much cal’s for a pre-bed meal if you are trying to cut? It’s around 300-350. I guess this depends on the cals I consumed during the day?

Also, would a 1/4 cup of steel cut oats be beneficial before bed if i’m trying to cut? My workout usually ends around 8-9pm, so it can almost be a pre-bed meal, or a post-workout meal. But only because this puts me to sleep like a baby =)

Thanks.

It really depends on what you are eating through out the day? What is your normal diet like?

I’ve had 400-500 cals pre-bed as long as my total cals for the day was where it should be. You should be fine with 350.

Why would you want to eat a bunch of complex carbs prior to sleeping?

If your workout ends late, then I would do a whey/sugar/creatine shake pwo and follow with fat/protein before sleeping.

I don’t know, i think oats make me tired. I started adding a banana and some oatmeal to my breakfast (mainly b/c at work from 9-5 so can’t eat as much as if i was home) and by the time i’m on the train my legs feel heavy and feel like going to sleep. it’s annoying. i’m gonna try just the banana without the oatmeal and see if i’m still tired. it might be the oats.

Your set (minus the oats)

if your cutting you want protien and fats before you pass out; having carbs isnt ideal.

if your at work from 9-5; buy a cooler.
