Hi guys. Care to share with me guidelines for cutting fat from higher bf levels with relatively low amount of muscle mass? For example, 200 lbs@15-20 % bf. I believe that guys in this group show uneven fat distribution and have slow metabolism that prevents them from getting really lean. Anybody in those unfortunate waters? Another thing, there are proponents of cutting/bulking ratio of 1:2-1:3 (for example, 6 weeks bulking / 2-3 weeks cutting). Is the body really able to switch so quickly from one mode to the other? Won’t the muscle mass gained be burnt off after so short bulking phase? Tnx.
I fit into that category. I weigh 200 lbs with 14% bf. In fact, it seems like like I’ve been chunky all 17 years of my life (except in wrestling season). Poliqin used to say food allergies may be partly responcible. I also used to think that bulking before cutting is most beneficial, but I am starting to think inversly after reading the last Appetite for Construction. I reccomend you read about cutting and bulking cycles in it.
Trust me, I read the whole T-Mag site, every article, and I read the Forum religiously. Just wanted some real-life feedback. The thing is that I have my diet and workout in check but I am still not really satisfied with the results. However, I did have some severe allergy issues when I was a child. My diet is very clean with emphasis on tuna, chicken meat, egg whites, cottage cheese and whey protein as a protein source and low GI carbs (oatmeal, beans, oat bran) as a carb source, so I really do not know what might be the allergy causing food here… I also keep a food log with macros and stuff for the last 18 months.
