I suppose that depends on what you mean by “mess him up.”
That is a question for him, not me. You’ll note that nowhere did I say I thought it was a good idea.

So, your maintenance is 3000 calories but, you did not gain any weight when you “bulked” on 3600 calories so, now you are dieting on 1000 calories??? That makes sense.
I so don’t understand this obsession with abs and being really lean ay…
If you dont like getting bigger muscles and optimizing progress/performance, by all means go on a cut. If you’re training hard and look like you lift, you’ll attractive and intimidating (depending on which you’re going for) at 5% AND at 25% bodyfat.
I mean if it’s to pick up girls, just get really strong and not give a shit about abs and then you can pick up many

6 weeks is plenty of time to trash your hormones - then have you come back to regular eating only to pile on fat. Which could lead to another crash diet and further trashing of hormones…
Do you know how many people get in great shape exactly once then balloon out to the fattest they’ve been and never return?
Im still getting stronger and PRing
Mostly social pressure and wanting to maximize muscle mass at the bodyweight class ill compete.
Its nor jusr a random crash diet tho,its lyle mcdonals the rapid fat loss diet and involves unlimited non starchy vegetables and very high protein.
Because i wanna get into a reaaallly long lean bulking phase after this and didnt wanna start it at 18% bodyfat
If I were you I’d look to put on about 30-40lbs of muscle over the next few years but it sounds like your mind is already made up to cut down to the BMI of an Auschwitz inmate.
Im 2 weeks into this shit i might as well finish it
And till now ive lost no muscle and strengh is as good as ever. Did dips with 3 plates for reps and deadlifting over 4 plates for 5s
To be fair, you never mentioned anything about competing in powerlifting or trying to be strong in a certain weight class.
With that said, I would never promote someone under 20 to cut unless they were quite obese. Even than, I wouldn’t suggest cutting dramatically for an extended amount of time. Why would you? This is the best time in your life to put on size. Your hormones will never naturally be this high ever again + your body may also not be finished growing so it still needs the calories and nutrients to finish growing.
Also, I call bullshit. Who the fuck would call you fat at your leanness? Even if they do, you shouldn’t take it to heart unless you have some serious mental issues.
I get that and i myseld have said the same thing to people, but i see this cut as my ticket to a long long lean bulk. Like,if i just cintinued bulking at some point it would again get in my head and id try to “slowly cut” again for months and lose months and months of what couldve possibly been bulking. With a 6 week crash diet i feel like i can quickly finish this and return back to bulking. Its like every day youre cutting is a day not building muscle,so why cut slowly.
I live in a place where lifting is synonimous with six packs. And my best friend who i got into lifting a year ago has great leanness genetics and got a six pack with just 2 months of a very little deficit and now everyones startinf to compare me to him like he only trains for a year ans gets a six pack and u dont yadayada
I know this is semi jokish, but as I woman id like to throw in that there are probably more of us out there who prefer big and meaty to lean and ripped than one would realize
Starving yourself because people are comparing you to your best friend is ridiculous. You have good genetics and you’re in your lifting prime. You can stop or alter this diet whenever you want.
OK kid*, I’m not the forum police, but I’d say this discussion has gone as far as it usefully can. You asked what you should do, and received a good number of responses. Of those, not a single respondent–many of whom are vastly more experienced and developed than you–has indicated they thought your cut was a good idea. The point being, you asked for advice, and you’ve got it. The issue now is, are you going to follow the (unanimous!) advice you’ve elicited, or ignore it and stick with your plan? There’s no question regarding what the sensible thing to do is; there is a very open question regarding what an apparently stubborn 18 y.o. will do. Either way, best of luck reaching your fitness goals.

*Not a term of derision–you are in fact younger than my youngest.
I guess i do come off as obnoxiosly stubborn sometimes. Its not that i dont trust people here, but the responses range from bulk a lot, bulk moderately, bulk by instinct to cut moderately and your diet isnt going to cause any harm so do what you want,so im a little confused and i just like really understanding things. You seem like a very professional guy so just tell me exactly what to do and ill do it. My plan has been to cut for these 5 weeks and then get into a long term lean bulk but if you honestly think you can offer sth better ill definetely listen to you (not sarcasm sorry if it comes off like that)
