HCG temporarily elevates in the human body after ejaculation AND working out…Cush was tested directly after a workout with the Texans and his level was SLIGHTLY elevated…he was then retested every week during the season and it was NOT elevated AT ALL. There’s the story boys…

I bet you a whole rapidly declining American Dollar that none of the “but he has gyno!” boys will be apologizing for jumping to conclusions. Even if the man ever did use anything, nothing in what I’ve read should be leading to game suspensions and the loss of endorsements.
I dont understand how they are suspending him for failing one, but passed one every week for the rest of the season. Wouldnt the powers that be understand it was false test (or whatever the terminology for it is)? This really sucks for Cush. Also what was the deal with the guy Joe called out in his article?
If all the above is true than Cush needs to come out and state this. From a PR perspective it would spin this back in his favor. Right now 9 out of 10 dumb asses if asked on the street will still say he is using the rhoidz.

They’ve allowed themselves to be convinced that steroids are the devil and that positive drug test = steroid use. I’ll wager one whole Canadian dollar that the suspension sticks and he loses both his defensive rookie of the year award and his all-pro status in the AP revote.
Would the elevated levels from a workout be enough to set the test off? Haven’t seen that asked yet. I have no idea if this guy uses, nor do I care, but there’s been rumors of him juicing since highschool. Maybe it’s haters talking shit, or maybe there’s something to it. Either way if he gets his ROY status stripped that would be a shame. Nothing in any bottle or vial put in the work for him.
The suspension was given after the appeal. There has to be more to this than the slightly elevated HCG. The union would be all over this. Cush needs to make sometype of statement.

Dude, the article said the test result was so low that if this had been the result even one year ago, that he would have passed.
If anything that points to the TEST being too damn sensitive and not anything wrong with Cushing.

I read that, but that still doesn’t answer my question. Being less than what was deemed an offense a year ago is not the same thing as having a workout cause a large enough spike so as to set off the test.

X you also cant go off of one lab test, you need confirmation tests. There is always lab error etc. Some thing is off, and why was his case decided so quickly. Its been like three years with the Williams trial in Min.

if the test is at fault wouldn’t his legal representatives brought that up in the appeal or during the appeal.
Sounds like the NFL is more concerned with the general public thinking that they’re tough on AAS and banned substances than they are with being accurate, fair, and sensible.

This is from an ESPN article on the situation. Pretty interesting:
"Cushing’s test was positive for slightly elevated levels of hCG, the source familiar with the case told Schefter. The level that he tested positive for was so low that it would not have been considered a positive test even a year ago.
hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is a banned substance that is widely used to stimulate the body’s testosterone production after an athlete uses anabolic steroids.
One person familiar with testing procedures told Schefter that hCG is contained in seminal fluid and that slightly elevated levels can be discovered in the event that a test occurs soon after ejaculation.
Cushing took and passed a lie-detector test to prove he was not guilty of taking a performance-enhancing drug, but his four-game suspension still stands, a league source told Schefter"
So he could get busted and lose all these awards cause the guy busted a nut too close to a test? lolz

Based on that info, no one should be for this action. If he would have passed even one year ago because of how low the level was, then why the hell is this an issue now?[/quote]
exactly. This should be a non issue and he should be cleared because he was tested and re tested through out the season and never once failed a test. Also he passed a lie detector test given by the NFL to see if he had ever used anabolic steroids.
The AP is a bunch of hypocrites for revoting when then didnt do it for Peppers when he was actually suspended during his rookie year and still won the award.

I assume they did and thats why the dirty test was in September and we’re just now finding out about it. Its obviously been going back and forth for almost 9 months and now they’re coming out with this.

Everybody wants steroids to be easier to get but they get upset when people claim someone who’s successful uses it.
The NFL doesn’t suspend people for jacking off. He failed a test last year the public didn’t find out until this year, after an appeal… Keep your blinders on if you want. The NON-STEROIDAL BANNED substance list is a godsend to the NFL, for the exact reason shown in this thread, gives everybody an easy out.
Can someone explain to me how a lie detector test “proves” anything or how re-testing weeks after a failed test when the substance in question clears the body very quickly proves that he wasn’t using?
This drug testing crap in all the leagues has gotten ridiculous. Most of it is a knee jerk to the PED usage in the 1990s in baseball. If PEDs were so great for athletes then why didn’t Canseco hit 600+ homers? The NFL is just jumping on board with everyone else and picking random athletes to “make an example out of.”
