Curls Gone Wild

standing rollouts would be a sight to see. from the knees is tough enough for me. besides i think my arms are too short to do them from a standing position.

deads are looking strong Pale One. Will you be testing a max anytime soon??

thanks for the links my lightly colored cousin

Unfortunately, yesterday’s lift WAS a max. I’m working back towards 500. I want that to be as regular a thing as 455 is for me right now. I’m pretty sure that I can lift 455 any time under most conditions and I want to have 500 be the same.

Clean and Press
barx10
115x5
140x3
155x3
170x2
185x1
190x1
175 2x3 sets

Squat
225x3
255x3
285x3
315x3
345x2 (belt on)
380x1
385x1

Walk outs (3 steps back unlock the knees and hold)
425x10 sec
455x10 sec
485x10 sec
515x10 sec
545x5 sec
585x5 sec (Most I’ve done outside a power rack.)

Squats again
365x2,1
340x4

Bar felt light on the back all through the movement, but ass and hams were straining at bottom

Pullups
BWx5 (ballistic to short ribs)
+35x5
+70x3

Chins
BW+70x5,5

That’s it.

Great work, Tony. And a heck of a lot of it.
How did the 385# squat feel?
The walkouts look…well…painful.
Great job!

Thanks Skip.

385 felt pretty good. Solid. I actually got a little scared beforehand. Weird, because I did 375 for three singles last time. It’s something about the number that messes with my head. Had to pretend to get aggressive with the bar in setup and it seemed to work out okay.

I really wanted 365 for a triple, but I could tell after the second one that it wasn’t going to happen.

The walkouts were okay, really. Challenging.

I didn’t note it, but these squats (380 385 365x2 and 340x4) are all PR’s at my current bodyweight. As is the 190 press.

Good stuff! Congratz on the PRs. When I saw the 190#er I wondered if it was a PR.

We really need to do something about your weight, though. I have a few dozen pounds I can spare…

Good work in here, DCA. Very solid work, indeed.

Thanks, Jack. Mebbe I’ll be as solid as you someday.

Im like you in squats. Ive got a certain number that messes with my head big time even when i have the strength to do it. I mean 10 lbs less then the magic number seems easy but when I hit the magic number my tail goes between my legs.

Weighlifting is 50% psychological. I read it, so it’s true. It is for me anyway. Great attitude, and great work, especially on the PRs.

Now go eat some food, will ya?

NAh Bro. I jus’ wanna get toned, y’know?

ahhh, tony, screw the bodyweight. spending any time worrying about that shit is a waste. just keep lifting heavy. that’s all that really matters anyway. The rest of us will just have to adapt to the fact that one of us has a physique, and the rest of us are fat.

And I, for one, am okay with that…

Box Squat (17" box)

Chest supported BB Row

Incline DB Bench

80sx5,5 (felt these in the back of the shoulders)

Hammer curls

Notes:

BP - felt a little stronger on BP today. Need more reps to make progress here I think.
Box Squat - 375 felt pretty easy. Up it 10 lbs next time
CS Rows - did 'em a little different today. Without my feet secured, I can’t do as much weight.
DB Incline bench - chest has lots of power, back of shoulder needs to be strengthened so it can be expressed.

That is a bunch of work.

It looks like more than…

I guess it was a lot of work.

Glad you can see that…and admit it. You do as much in 1 workout as I do in 2 or 3. It amazes me that you just keep ticking away.
