Cure for Morning Tiredness?

Have you looked into food intolerances and/or food allergies? You may not even realize you have any (many people don’t). I used to feel the same way when I woke up in the morning - had to hit the snooze button 3 or 4 times, then still felt like a sack of shit in the morning and much of the day. Once I did some research and cut out dairy and wheat from my diet, I was cured! Now I feel great, but if I have any of this stuff the day/night before, boy do I feel it in the morning - feel totally hung over. Sounds crazy, I know, but some food for thouht.

Do you use an alarm clock? Your body runs in 45-minute sleep cycles and you feel refreshed if you wake up after a sleep cycle but like a train-wreck if you wake up during certain parts of the cycle regardless of how long you slept.

This is an interesting idea, but at the same time impractical IMO.

How is he supposed to know the exact time at which he has fallen asleep?? No one knows when, as they are, duh, sleeping by then.

And you got to know the exact time you have fallen asleep to start calculating the 45 minute sleep cycles from that moment.
I heard about a watch that you wear to bed. You sent an approx. time to wake up and the watch can “measure” your sleep phase and the alarm will go off as you are coming out of deep sleep. At first, the sound level is very low and it increases as you come further out. I don’t know if it works but it sounds interesting.

A buddy of mine swears by a lamp/alarm that he bought from sharper image years ago. If you set the time for 7:00 then the lamp comes on at 6:30 and slowly gets brighter until the alarm goes off at 7. It is supposed to simulate rising with the sun which is supposed to help you wake “nicely”.

When I first saw your pic in your post, I thought you were suggesting a traditional cure for morning tiredness! (Hey, it works for me!)

Lookin’ good, BTW.

Another traditional cure for morning tiredness, particularly applicable to late teens/early twenties: don’t get up in the morning.

Spike! the answer to a not enough sleep last night day…

Medication did the trick.
Drugs are bad, mkay … I gotsta think there are better solutions. Drugs are a bandaid.

But I’m mostly in agreement with the others. You’re probably NOT overtrained unless you’re going to failure frequently. Fresh air good. Good mattress good. ZMA good. Coffee good. Spike good. Chirag said something about carbs - that is hyooge for me - elimination of simple processed stuff except PWO. I sleep longer and harder when I consume more total calories, so I do better by staying a little hungry. Some of us are just hardwired to need more sleep and be slow starters. That’s fine, as we’re better when we finally do get going.
