How many have ran this for an amount of time? I do something similar but haven’t gone heavy on upper body in awhile due to neck injury. I’m gonna start today on it so I will poke in and out letting you know how I like it.
I’ve heard good things, I have two friends running this right now, who love it. both are mid level guys 450/350/550 area, and getting new PR’s. It seems like a solid premiss, 3 week cycle - sqeed - reps - strength, seems like somthing you could run year round, without to much trouble, injury wise. Anyway if your going to run this, maybe you should start a log, I don’t think there are any here, so goodluck
Ran this before my last meet. I will start by saying i was dealing with an injury during my training cycle and missed at least one day(squat day from what I remember) due to a stomach bug.
That being said, I pr’d my squat (6lbs) but my bench and deadlift when down. Bench was only 7 pounds, Deadlift was over 25lbs.
I didn’t like certain things about the program but loved others. The setup kept me from being overly sore. As a raw guy I like to pull off the floor and bench with a full range of motion. The 50 rep squats sucked but were great for mental toughness.
On the whole I think it’s a great program but not necessarily the best program for me as written. I might make changes to address my weaknesses.
I’ve been running it for a few months now and I enjoy it, although I did switch the Boss program when 365Strong came out. I have read a few people having issues with the bench while on it, but I’m just the opposite, I’m having solid success.
Thanks guys for the replies… I think I will keep a log. Did my first day yesterday, it was deadlift for reps… next is heavy bench. Looks fun. I like the rotation… I might mess around with upper body but the lower looks good.
Let us know the name of your log here, if you don’t mind, because I’d like to follow it. I recently came back to PLing after a decade of life getting in the way, so after 6mths I’m just getting my number’s back, and would like to start off in Jan, and spend a year on a solid program, building my base. I’ve been looking at the Cube, or another base building program, and would be real interested in a cube log. Also what kind of injuries and age your working around, would be helpful to gauge the program, because I know at 40 I have different concerns and injuries to deal with, than in my 20s. If not here, than give me a shout in my log, I’ll for sure be following. Goodluck again !
OK…log will be called “Rich’s Cube run” I will post yesterdays workout and I’m going to train again around 10 pm… (I work graveyard shift)
