Mid to top level bodybuilders look incredible, and mid to top level crossfitters also for the most part look incredible. The difference is one has an emphasis on looks and the other has an emphasis on performance. If all you care about is looks, then you want bodybuilding. If you care about looks and how you move, your awareness of your body, mobility, your athleticism, your fitness, being able to do gymnastics, feeling great, and just generally being able to outperform people then crossfit.
Crossfitters at mid to top level aren’t by any means small they are generally smaller than bodybuilders because too much weight hinders them in their sport. You can gain size and strength doing crossfit, just like you can bodybuilding. It all depends on how dedicated you are, how you eat, and what you take (wink, wink).

I agree right up until you imply one can gain significant size while doing crossfit workouts. Nobody is going from a lean 135-140 to a lean 180-190 while using the crossfit protocol.
